Re: How long before you hit your first royal?
My first RF came after playing for about a year and a half at the Harrah's in Black Hawk, Colorado. Held 3 and drew the other two on a nickel machine for $200. I decided that I was ready for the Big Time and on my next visit moved up to quarter play to turn that $200 into some real folding money. Do I need to finish the story? I think not. That was so long ago that I thought losing $100-$200 was the end of the world...

Yeah, faygo, I do remember the small casino and bingo hall but not the tokens and tickets to cash out. Talked to a couple who play there 3 X / week and they are bummed that comps aren't better. True, meals and cash backs are there. But their specials on room rates, as in mailed offers, are comparable to every average motel in that area instead of comping rooms. It's a beautiful casino as is the Sault and Little River. Little River may never get TITO. Celebrating at Greektown tomorrow. Time for a BIG WIN!

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING VP FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS NOW AT A LOCAL INDIAN CASINO ABOUT 40 MINUTES FROM HOME. I HAVE HAD 5 RF SO FAR I ONLY PLAY TRIPLE DOUBLE .25 USUALLY ON A 5 PLAY MACHINE. I DID GET 2 IN ONE NIGHT THAT WAS QUITE A THRILL. LEAVING FOR LV ON THE 18TH OF MAY I HOPE TO GET A FEW MORE. ITS ALL ABOUT PLAYING THE NUMBER OF HANDS.
GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

It took me 3 years to get my first RF. My playing companion 3 visits, yet I was the one who knew the strategy. I got my last RF Sunday morning at 1:30am at Resorts in Tunica. Just about fell out of my chair

Netbabe, that wasn't RF shock, it was probably from slouching in those non-ergonomic chairs!

I didn't count hands, but it was in my 2nd week of heavy VP play
I hit the royal (full coin $5 machine at Chester) before I ever hit a straight flush.
I'll post about it in VP stories category

I am not sure how many hands in I played but about my 4th trip to vegas where I went to play VP after actually learning how to play I dabbled for previous trips but never really learned it till then .When I was with 2 friends at Main street station and held just the Ace of spades on their DB game hit the draw button and was talking to buddy playing next to me when it hit .It literally took me about 10 seconds for it to sink in that I actually hit it .Thank goodness my friend had a cameraphone and he took the picture .While i was waiting for my 1k handpay the guy playing 4 machines down hit one .Then about 10 minutes later he hit another one .Mine sure came at a good time as I was down about 600 for the trip to that point so this was my first positive trip earnings on Vp that I had .I hope yours comes soon .
Best of luck to all !

I was fairly new at VP, I hit mine at Silver Legacy in Reno. I was dealt it. The screen went weird, before I could figure it out the guy next to me said you hit a royal flush!!
