going back to the orig thread. holding a 3 card flush on a 9/6 poker game is beneficial if one of two conditions are met: 1) you still have the possibility of a straight flush, or 2) at least one of the cards is a face card (retaining the possibility of a jacks/better). Otherwise it's almost always better to throw it away. - Roger

I agree with 1) but 2) is not optimal for JOB. However, it does work for many DB paytables.

Thanks shadowman. You're right. So you are saying the only time you hold 3 cards to a flush in JOB is in the 1) situation? Or are there others?

The only time is when a straight flush or royal flush is a possible result.
