Inside Straight vs. Single Face Card

I know this is a basic simple question, but considering DDB, is it better to hold a low inside straight (i.e. 3, 4, 6, 7 O/S) possibility or a single Face card, say K.

According to Bob Dancer in Video Poker for the Intelligent Beginner, always hold the face card (9/6) unless you have 3,4,5,7 (or similar) where the three in a row are of the same suit. Then hold the 3 to the sf.

Yes. It’s funny how many good hands I have pulled in various games with the 3 suited cards held.
