Re: Off to Nevada
We had a sad Saturday. I dropped $600, and my wife $1200, due in both cases to a severe lack of decent starting hands, and the subsequent dearth of quads, or anything better. Sunday was better for her, +$100. I continued my losing ways, with another $600 loss. Two to three hours in the morning, where I lost $300, and she won her $100. She played even evening session, but I dropped my second $300 in 20 minutes of agonizing play. I don't really know what the probability of being dealt a push, or better, is in JOB, but I'm pretty sure I was nowhere close to whatever that number is.

Misery loves company. This reminds me of my last trip. If ice cold, find something else to do. Keep switching machines every five minutes or pull the card and take a break. At least you can rationalize that you tried to change your luck. I can't justify a -$600 day under any circumstances and am still agonized over my -$400. What an astounding lack of ebb and flow to our sessions. Doesn't it feel like a mugging?

Anytime I try and type Fa La La La La.... La la la la. It does the same thing and if I do type it I am always referring to a vocalist. If I type a letter at a time, like above it will work. Good luck this week enjoy.

Monday at the Silver Legacy was a better day than the previous two. Again, we played 5cent 50 lines, me, 9/6JOB, and my wife, her "normal" Super Aces.
I managed to break even, while she put on another aces show and finished up $1000, thanks to a couple of royals, and an unbelievable, again, 30+ sets of quad aces.
She did have a few bleak moments, though. Twice she drew to four to the royal, and whiffed on all 50 hands. And twice, as well, she drew to three aces, and hit zero quads. Those whiffs on the aces draw, however, were more than compensated for, when on a later opportunity with three aces dealt, she hit an incredible 9 quads.
We are now at Cactus Petes in Jackpot, Nevada, after a six hour or so drive. We might just veg tonight.

Always good to relax. Eventually, one gets the itch to try try again. I do. If I am staying over at Mohegan, I usually watch the news at 11pm, sometimes start a movie, but more often than not. I/we will head down to play several hours when it is nice and quiet overnight. Speaking of relaxing, have to tonight. First eye done today. Follow up appt with my driver, heeee the Mrs tomorrow. So far so good.

We are home now and, unfortunately, somewhat lighter in the wallet.
Cactus Pete certainly exacted some revenge for our previous (+$6900) successful trip there. We played mostly 5 line 50c NSU deuces, just like last year, but thanks to no royals, and a scarcity of quad deuces, we combined for a $3400 loss, $2000 of which was mine.
After our three night stay at Cactus Petes we drove back to Reno for a final two nights at the Silver Legacy before flying on the 15th back to Buffalo. We played minimally this time at the Legacy, as our favourite 50 and 100 play machines were all out of service. A slot person advised me that there had been some kind of issue with their system earlier in the week, and not all machines had been returned to service. Since there were other out of service machines in the casino, as well, that explanation seemed reasonable.
Just like the previous weekend, when the Italian Festival was on , the ROW was very, very busy. There was a slot tournament at the El Dorado that may have generated some of that business, but, perhaps, it's now always busy there on the weekends.
We stayed two nights at Seneca Niagara before finally completing the trip home yesterday. We played our normal 5 line 50c bonus poker there, and I did manage a modest $1200 win there, thanks to a royal.
Overall, for the trip, though, we were down a combined $5300, or so. Does that sound better if I phrase it as about "only" 1.5% of our coin in?
We did have a bit of a glitch on the trip home. We arrived, more or less on time, Sunday night in Buffalo, but one of our checked bags didn't. We were given the choice of having the suitcase, once located, shipped to our home, or returning to the airport the next morning and picking it up personally. We chose the latter, since it's a relatively short drive from Seneca Niagara back to the airport, and we did receive a $200 travel voucher as compensation for the inconvenience. Interestingly, I thought, that suitcase took a bit of a side trip, as it went, first, from Chicago to Baltimore, and then on to Buffalo. I assume that routing enabled it to get to Buffalo sooner.
We have another trip, hopefully with a better financial outcome, planned for early January.

Taking everything into account, sounded like a relatively fun trip OMT. Better luck to you both on your next excursion.
Can you get the mileage that your suitcase rang up transferred to your account?

I enjoyed hearing about your trip. Your loss sounds like it was in area it should have been. Getting dealt a big hand or two on say 50 play can be the difference between being up or down. You will probably need a couple of days to recoup.
