Does speed playing really help?

Discuss proper hold strategies and "advantage play" and ask questions about how to improve your play.

You left out the part where all your meals are comped anyways!

It depends on what your goal is.  If you are playing for comps, you'll get in more hands (more coin in) in less time by playing fast.  However, caution is advised.  Never play so fast that your accuracy suffers.  That sort of defeats the purpose <LOL>

If I play too fast (non tournament) I am apt to make mistakes...play at a safe pace.

It depends on the time of day as well as the day of the week not to mention your zodiac sign.
I am still trying to sort it all out so as to adjust the speed to the proper hands per min. Very complex calculations but I have 3 chinese twins mathamaticans woking on it.
Is chinese math the same as american math? If not that could be a problem. Oh well. There goes my life savings.

Cd you left out the part when you jump on your scooter with sacks of cash under your plastic scooter riding jacket and ride off into the sunset singing "I did it my way."

I have a lackey to handle transportation of the petty cash, oej, while I jet off to my next adventure with some of it as mad money.  I couldn't tell you how many times I've been asked, "Is that a $20K roll in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" <yawn>

Ed, the Red Dolly's $4.99 prime rib is a special, so I have to pay like any commoner! ()  The places here are starting to cheap out on meal comps.  I took my mother to another casino last week and they wouldn't comp me for two breakfast buffets - and I'm an elite player there!

I agree.  While I'll start a little slow, I can generally work up to a nice "groove" speed where I feel comfortable and am not making mindless error. The longer I play, the faster the "groove" gets.

My biggest enemy I think is playing while I'm tired.

3. Quit lugging around that bankroll with all those fives and tens mixed in. That's asking for trouble.
