Re: Off to Nevada
I stay where I get free rooms. I have 6 nights at boyd casinos. 3 downtown at the California, 3 at Orleans and 2 on the strip at Treasure Island. I can also get lots of rooms on the strip at the Caesar properties but don't really like to gamble on the strip. I choose Treasure Island because I want to go see the New Fountain Blue property.

What did you think of the video poker available at Paris? Scoping things out for a future trip and like the Paris location.

*L* Ya Doris that's the one. I knew when I typed it that I screwed up the name. I heard people trying to pronounce it and everyone had a different take. I just spell it like I say it I guess.

I mentioned that we were going to Harrahs Laughlin on a Caesars junket. Our flight from Buffalo to Laughlin on Wednesday had something new - we stopped on the way, in Lincoln, Nebraska to pick up more passengers. In all the years we've been doing these trips, we have never, ever, made such a stop. I guess that's what they have to do if they can't fill enough seats in Buffalo. And, we will have a stop going back in Lincoln, to drop off those Lincoln passengers.
Our first day of play here, at Caesars other Laughlin property, the Tropicana, turned out pretty well. My wife broke out of her slump with a 50c royal on a three card draw while playing 5 line 50c 8/5 bonus poker. Overall, she finished the day up by around $1100. And, I manage a modest $200 win on that same 5 line 50c game, which, in my opinion, is a pretty good result for about $25000 of play and no royals, nor quad aces.
Hopefully, we can keep it up.

Hell, yeah. A -$200 is a pretty good result on that much play.

OMT hope you have fun in Laughlin. I have been there more times than I can remember. It is not near as good as it once was but it's as good once as it ever was!! I should write a song.

You reminded me of a great song by the late Toby Keith, "As Good as I Once Was." In the song he sang, "I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once
As I ever was."

It sure isn't. When we started our trips to Laughlin many years ago, we played 9/6 JOB at Harrahs (usually 50 line 5c), and when we wanted to try something different, there were several casinos offering full pay deuces wild. Now, 8/5 bonus poker is about the best we can find.
