Re: The Path III
Bummer. I have 2 straight bummer sessions as well. Both of mine had early small hits. Then nothing.

When even the small hit takes an hour, it's probably time to simply go home.

Foolish Friday. I lost my $25 Caesars table FP on an eight to out. I won $23 on my $25 machine quarter JOB FP. I endured three hours play between quarter and dollar machines with no quads. One dollar machine showed a $1,700 even cash out. That gave me okay play. Progressive was $1,079. Net Day: -$202. 71 TCs.

Failed Friday. I won my $25 Caesars table FP on a seven hit. I won $13 on my $25 JOB quarter machine FP. Both were given back. I decided to play at Resorts. Woman had a $4,000 Ultimate X hit, so I was hopeful. I did hit two quads in two hours, but they totaled $100. I walked back to Caesars. Pigeon dropped on my jacket, which was nylon for easy cleaning. No fee ATM session. Small premium quad enabled a +$20 in an hour. Of course, progressive JOB hit in the meantime. Net Day: -$431. 83 TCs.

Fine Friday. I lost my $25 Caesars table FP on a four to out. I won $15 on $25 machine FP. I left +$40 after a max quad. Regrettably, all returned at Resorts despite a small quad. Lunch at Rockets. Back at Caesars, machine did well until I lost $45 in a furious dud streak. I hit dollar BP and it hit back. I parachuted to safety with a max quad deuces. Net Day: +$71. 29 TCs.

A wash of a trip, as expected given your bland plan. I never really expected you to reach Bet 2. Just a slow grind, which suits you just fine. Crank up the comps and live that casino life.

That's kinda funny, if used in the right context and with right audience.
While I am sorry you did not win, I noticed you short coining the dollar VP credit game and playing only 1 or 2 credit; why would you do that instead of playing 25 cents or even nickels and playing MAX coin? You do understand it's better to play at a level of value per credit that allows you to max bet so that you get the RF payout when it hits? Or am I missing something very specific and unique to the Comp system at that particular casino that makes it uniquely beneficial to play the way you are playing?
I freely admit I am long out of the game of Casino Comp Maximizing and out of Video Poker in general for a long time. I'll leave it to FAA and the more knowledgeable posters here like onemoretry, Ted and Olds to enlighten me on this; if Im in Borgota next month and plunk some money in their games, is there ever some specific unique non-obvious scenario where it's advatageous to bet less than MAX?

No. You are correct. I experiment with non max play in an attempt to save money. Olds often starts out low and works his way up depending on how the machine plays. His machines do pay 800:1 on RFs. Don't be sorry, as I did hit my premium quad on max and won on this particular trip.
