Does Las Vegas is the best place to gamble and why or why not?

I think the odds in Vegas are not the best especially for video poker but you can't beat the choices of the games they offer.

If you stay away from the strip you can find pretty decent games.

I get better odds at Choctaw and Winstar at the OK/TX border, so have stopped visiting Las Vegas.

I haven't been to Vegas in 7 years. No desire to go there to gamble. I have nice smokefree, casinos here in Metro Phoenix that are close by. VP odds may be better in Vegas but are far outweighed by the cost of gas and other travel expenses. May go to Vegas (or Laughlin) at some point but primarily for reasons other than gambling.

Smoke bothers me more so last two Vegas trips I mainly played at Park MGM. Still think Vegas best gambling place but because of smoke more inclined to stay home and play at local casinos which are all nonsmoking.

Vegas is the best for diversity and for the number of casinos competing for your business within a short distance. There are more +EV offers there than elsewhere - for example, the Four Queens/Binions offer this month, or Tuscany last month. Some local casinos in tough markets may have good offers but most don't feel the need to complete.
