Just returned from South America (take 2)
Well, I was in S. America for 21 days and I went into a casino in Buenos Aires and Chile. There are only slot machines, no table games and the slots are all the same as we are used to. No poker machines, however. I did play a 20 peso note which was equivalent to $6.60. Played for about 20 minutes on it but was pressed for time and my husband did not want to be there. The casino in Punta Arenas Chile was somewhat smaller and I only walked in and walked out. Would have liked to have played but I had to get back to the ship. I did hit a Royal Flush on a poker machine on the ship even though the odds were 6/5. Was dealt a flush, jkqa and 3 of spades. Threw away the 3 and got the 10. I noticed at the bar that the odds were 10/6 jacks or better but it was tied to a progressive which was 2600.00. I put 50.00 into the machine and never saw a three of a kind. Actually got a lot of play out of the 6/5 machine. Not only did I hit a royal but was dealt a straight flush on job. In spite of my wins, I ended up losing. Too many sea days with cold weather and rain. It is fall in S. America so as you head south around the cape it gets colder. Arrived in Santiago (heading north) and it was in the 80's. Can't wait to go to the Borgata on Sat. where everything is in English.

This sounds like an interesting trip. I've removed the spam responses to another topic so that people can resume discussion here.

Good plan, WM. It does sound like an interesting trip. I'd like to hear more about the non-gambling adventures too.

And I repost the relevant remark here:
I thought 10/6 JOB was history! Tell us more about this trip to South America. We get very little feedback on gambling establishments that are not within the Borders of the US.
