Some of those I remember from the "Good Old Days" are Shadowman, Boopsie, OEJ, Billy Joe, Rascal, Eduardo, many others. I still see Eduardo on this forum but the others have disappeared. I see Lucky Larry a little, but not much. My days were in the early 2000's, and then in later years I just checked in from time to time.felix wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:52 pmI used to be a regular at this site and I would post some on this forum. I had a different user name back then. Mostly I just checked the forum every couple of days. Back then there were always "Video Poker Stories" from the various posters. Stories and photos of nice wins almost every day. I always enjoyed reading about them and seeing the actual photos.
I have checked in some recently and I don't see hardly any stories of nice wins any more. Very rare. This coincides with the VP players at casinos becoming older and older, and less and less frequent. This game will be gone from casinos in another 5 or 10 years, so enjoy it while you can.
We used to have a really aggressive guy on here that we had to refer to as "He Who Shall Not Be Named" in order not to be suspended by Webman. This guy was hawking a "unique" winning system but he couldn't prove how it worked and last I heard he filed bankruptcy.
Back in those days there was a lot more arguments and name calling on the threads and Webman had to suspend people. Now from what I can see, it is much calmer and it also looks like the regular posters are just a handful of people.
Like I said in the original post, I feel bad that VP is slowly disappearing and being downgraded by the casinos. This is happening at the same time that this forum has fewer and fewer regulars --- a shame. I can remember going to the casino and having to wait for a seat at one of the VP machines. Now, I have the entire row all to myself most of the time. Sad. One of the attendants told me there are more people than ever coming to casinos, but they all want slots, slots, slots. Even some table games are starting to decrease in number. If you think about the win % on VP vs slots, it is crazy that they all want slots, but I guess the casino owners love it, lol.
