Re: Last Resort
my mother and i used to go to vegas for slot tournaments years ago and our best result was 3rd place for $4000.i never would consider myself or my mother "suckers". we got our rooms and food included in the entry fee,and met a lot of great people.

I can’t complain about the tournaments. I don’t go to many of them, but about 10 years ago, I won the top prize at Mohegan of 5,000 for smashing the buttons for 10 minutes. I as well have met and kept some good friends both in person and here on the site.

I am completely ignorant about the tournaments. A lot of losing to merit a spot is my assumption. But if it’s just an entry fee, I guess you can break even. It seems to be excessive, to be kind. But it has paid off for you all.

Many tournaments have no entry fee, you may have stubbed your toe with assuming otherwise.
Please replace stubbed your toe, with, shown your ignorance, if you so desire.

The casino business model is to take a lot of your money quietly, and then give a little of it back prominently.
If I'm invited to a no entry fee tournament, I already paid for it.
Same as the "free" drawings.

You mean if you enter a no fee tournament, right? You are not being strong armed to enter. Same as the "free" drawings. A person has the ability to just say no.

It's basically an earned benefit. I want to collect my earnings.
But it may have been smarter to not earn the benefit at all.

Preach. I was right. There's an implicit entry fee for the entrants, who I have in my estimation fairly labeled as suckers. We collect room benefits, so why not a tournament. It's already prepaid. As the philosophers say more eloquently, look in the mirror.

What a stretch. Invites are not sent out to just "losers."
