Missed this thread.
This is the worst I've seen in a US casino.
Sam's Town Tunica in April of 2019. 91.10% optimal payback.

Was the pay table better if you went up to 25 cent denomination?

Now up to 8 or 9 tables on Friday nights. Almost but not quite back to normal. New addition open with slots and table games with new asian food court overpriced and under quality in
most opinions. Saw guy betting 2 black at baccarat table with another 8 or so black on some side bet. Didn't have the heart to see what happened. $200 minimum table and you have to PAY for your ******* rum coke or Coors!
Bally's Twin River-jump into the thrill!
Yeah, some ******* thrill. LOL

Update-of sorts.
Have been going to Plainridge last 2 months. Love the non-smoking and the great burgers/shakes at Wahlburgers.
Well, we got a "missing you" $25 free slot play postcard and 2 days later another big postcard pumping their BRAND NEW FIRST FLOOR NON-SMOKING CASINO. The second floor has been all non-smoking since they opened in 2007.
So we decided to take a spin to Bally's Twin River and "jump in to the thrill". LOL-what bull****!
I figured they would AT MINIMUM put in a sliding door or some glass partition to seperate the non-smoking area. Nope. The exact same slots that were there before are still there. They did open up a few of the table games that have been empty since the table games were moved to expensive new (smoking) annex in the other part of the first floor. For those familiar with this place there is about a 30 foot walkway seperating the "new" casino from the other side where the cashier, players club and lighthouse bar is. Well now there in an orange barrel with a crooked sign saying "non smoking area". That is the extent of the "renovation" ! Maybe 30 bucks total. Yeah, jump into the f****** thrill!
Actually though to give them credit it does work pretty well to get rid of that constant ashtray smell that has been on that side from day one. Won $770 on a $1.50 bet at an anceint Cashman machine. Grabbed a couple of hot dogs, a large crinkled fry and a large cup of that delicious lemonade at Nathan's.
This place had always had free valet-just leave a tip. After the pandemic the valet was shut over a year. Then they opened the valet weekends only with a sign "$5 tips greatly appreciated". A month later they changed it to "$10 tips greatly appreciated" Well we went Wednesday and the "$5 tips greatly appreciated" sign was up. Don't know if that applies to weekends as well. Never had many people lined up to pay $12-15 to avoid maybe a 100 foot walk.
Given my big win, the non smoking on the games we like and the extra 10 minutes to drive to Plainridge we will likely be jumping into the thrill for at least the next few visits.

Just a clarification to my last post for any interested-the valet is open all the time. $5 weekdays, $10 weekends. With 'tips greatly appreciated" on both the $5 and $10 signs. Hit for 700 on the 50 Lions machine on the first floor non-smoking. Older slots on the first floor non-smoking side seem to be juiced up from large anecdotal evidence. Not so with "new room" smoking area.

Here is the latest idiocy from Bally's Twin River. I have a small credit union whose ATM only spits out 20's. So over the months I had around $1200 in 20's that I wanted to consolidate to 100's. Sooooooo, I went to Bally's, played a hour or so on the penny Wheel of Fortune and ended up with 2 vouchers of a little under $700. to save time at the cashout machine I put both tickets into the slot and got one voucher for a little under $1400 went to the payout machine and was met with "this ticket cannot be cashed". I had to walk over to the cashier and wait in line for 10 minutes because the ticket was over $1200. No ID or anything at the cashier so what are they accomplishing? Nothing. So you can cash 2 tickets for $1400 total at the machine but try to save time and you cause yourself a tiny headache.

I am just playing Devil's Advocate here. That being said, why didn't you just go to a teller at your snall credit union and exchange the 20's for 100's?mike elbedewy wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 9:24 amHere is the latest idiocy from Bally's Twin River. Have you cashed out a ticket greater in denomination than $1,200.00 at Bally's Twin River in the past?
What does this have to do with the Worst vp in America? Shouldn't you have posted this in the Worst ticket cashing policies in America forum?

I think my record payout from a machine is around $1500. I've had many rejections between 1000 and 1500.
Occasionally I've had a rejection at one payout machine, and then success at another. Fascinating topic.
