Differences in max game speeds

Post by CuddlyLion »

Webman, a question:

Why are the max game speeds so different between games?

In Super Times Pay games, for example, the max speed is set at "hare" -- i.e., instantaneous. But in Quick Quads, Dream Card, and others the max speed is set at "tortoise" -- just a plodding step progression. Some keno games are like this, too, but it is definitely noticeable in the poker games. If it matters, I'm playing on a laptop via Spectrum ethernet using Windows 10 in a DuckDuckGo browser, although MS Edge yields the same results.

There is a pretty big range of how quickly some games play at max or “turbo” by design.

I’m not sure if what you are describing is your system playing slower than expected or if it’s playing as designed.

I’m not certain why these differences exist, they are based off how the game operates in the casino for the most part, at least at the time we built them. There are sometimes different builds of games for different hardware released over the years so it’s possible there is a range of speeds in the casino as well for an individual game. I’m not sure if that is something operators have a setting to adjust or not.

To know if your system is playing slower than expected I’d probably need a video or you could time a certain game over 10 hands or so and I could conpare.

Webman, I went through several games just now and didn't seem to have the problem. I think the problem lies in my Spectrum internet feed. I've made a couple of complaints to them about it and got nowhere. They claim to offer speeds of 400 Mbps, but in reality, even using ethernet instead of WiFi, the actual speed is 1/4 to 1/5 that. Which probably explains the Members Rule spin page locking up on me the way it did. And maybe having more users playing at the same time slows things up some, too. And I agree with you, the age of the particular game probably makes a difference as well.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Your hard work is appreciated.

There may be modem settings you can adjust that would help, but I would adjust them with caution and make sure you save your current settings somewhere in case things go wrong.

The only other thing I can think of is to make sure you don't have too many browser tabs open while playing, and these can take up a lot of memory.

Finally... try Google Chrome and see if it performs better or worse than your current browser.
