Last nights dinner ( mine ) from our favorite local Italian restaurant we have been going to for over 40 years. Just put a small dent in mine and have enough for at least 2 more meals. My fav….Eggplant Parm….Funny, the water boy from back then is now the manager.
The rest are things blooming today at our house. Rose of Sharon. Very pretty. The other pic is the Mrs Baked Ziti. Their pizza is excellent too. Right up there with the famous names in New Haven. If anyone will be traveling on I95 and wants the name, just let me know. Right off the exit 39 in Milford, Ct. 2 minutes away.

Love eggplant parm. Many years ago, an Italian neighbor of my parents used to make it for me from scratch when I would come home to visit. The best I ever have had. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting. Love the flowers as well.

Thanks Bill. Wish I could beam you some. I don’t know if you can get made from scratch out there. Finishing night number 2 now and enough left for tomorrow nite too. It’s a bit of work to make as you know. The stuff they have in Olive Garden bears no resemblance. Sorry I made you hungry.
. Funny, when you have something as great as this, you have no desire or need for meat at all. I wonder if your neighbor also made the squash blossoms. I’m 1/4 Italian and the street I grew up on was all Italian vets and a few Irish returning Veterans from WW2 and Korea. All the neighbors were about the same age early 30s when we moved in. The street was all brand new 5 room ranches and the vets were able to get the Govt Mortgages including my parents. I remember the house was 13,000 brand new and my parents had to borrow the 50 dollar down payment from my grandmother. The cape Cod houses one street over had already sold out in 1954 and were 9,800 new.

No problem. We have a variety of Italian Restaurants/Pizzerias here that are owned by folks from NYC and environs. They know what they are doing. The owner of the one I primarily go to is originally from Sicily and had a pizza place in Astoria Queens. A number of years ago it was featured on the Food Channel's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Anyways, hope you are doing ok with your treatments, Take care.

Thanks again Bill. That’s great you still have those restaurants. The Sicilians that I grew up with would only plant their gardens with seeds sent over from Sicily. Their gardens were amazing and they always gave us some of the seeds too. Now I’m hungry, and it’s 12:45 AM. Better wait till tomorrow!
. If I make it to Bizarro Sunday, I’m going to head straight to Pepes for an original Tomato Pie and a nice salad. The Mrs and I are on tap for Tuesday as of now. We will probably do an instant replay at Pepes.
