Stories from our youth!
I think I will start this thread and see what happens. Might be good reading on a rainy or stormy day! Anyone can start. I’ll get to one over the weekend.

Just a quick one to start. When I was about 12, my best friend and I were out in the woods in our tree fort and a huge gust of wind came up and blew me out of the tree. The ground was soft luckily as the drop was about 15 feet, but unfortunately, I landed on a piece of a pointed stump that went right through my side and out the other. My friend was an expert Eagle Scout and he immediately built a fire heated up a piece of hardwood until it turned into charcoal, gave me a piece of leather from his glove to bite down and cauterized the wound front and back
Of course it hurt like you know what but I bit the bullet so to speak as we had watched similar things done and the black-and-white westerns in the 1950s, which is when this happened. Anyway, I never told my parents and he never told his or mine either. In a couple of days I could move around pretty well and thank goodness I never developed an infection. My friend eventually became a forest ranger in the dense forests in upstate Washington. He’s now retired. We never told fearing we would be banned from our homemade tree fort!
