Harrahs Cherokee River Valley
I play regularly at Harrahs Cherokee. Their River Valley casino is 70 minutes away by car, but I’ve never been there
Does anybody know if they have video poker higher than $5 single-line, and if so, what pay schedule?

Video Poker
For a fast-paced version of the classic card game, tap into the thrills of video poker. Harrah’s has a variety of video poker machines, ranging from 25¢ to $5 denominations.
The above was taken right from their web site a few moments ago, Central Time.

I still live in Vegas. We go to cherokee regularly. I was wondering if making a trip to the casino in Murphy was worth it.
The info Ted quoted from the website says $5 is their highest denomination. If that’s true (and websites aren’t always accurate and up-to-date), playing both casinos doesn’t buy me anything useful
It would be nice to have an eyes-on assessment from a competent observer. I’m willing to pay for the information.

Bob, why would you *pay* for the info? Why not invest 2 minutes into a phone call and ask the casino???????

I don’t think anyone here would charge Bob for the information. I would gladly share it, but unfortunately, I don’t have it. On the other hand, Bob if you ever venture up to Connecticut, I would be glad to do a scouting trip ahead of time for you on denominations and pay tables. It would be no big deal since I am there about 100 days of the year. I know Mohegan Sun still has 10,25, 100 9/6 Job machines. Not sure about the other games. By the way, extremely clean and totally smoke free. Very difficult to find 99 percent or better multi line games. Spin poker approaches 99 percent, but not quite. Anyway, if you ever need more detailed info, just drop a line here somewhere. I find casino information is often out of date, and most slot attendants and even slot managers are quite often clueless either by accident or design on pay tables, denominations, and other details. Bottom line is, and I guess you know this already, there is no substitute for hands-on personal observation.

Felix: calling the casino cold often isn’t fruitful. The person you get on the line typically isn’t knowledgeable. ‘Pay schedule’ is a concept not understood by many casino employers (and players!). And if they do understand, they often are suspicious of anyone wanting to know that information
Better to get a knowledgeable player to look.
