Re: MARKETS,Anybody even yet?
I'm strapped in for FOMC. Market is expecting a quarter-point cut at each of the three remaining meetings this year.

I’m not quite sure how things will play out. I think the gap between the haves and have nots is widening. Rate cut will cost Berkshire 3 Billion in interest earnings. Won’t help me either except a few exceptions. I will need to find some more stable dividend plays to offset the income loss.

Looks like the market bought on the rumor and is now selling on the Fed rate cut news. I was able to sell SII just off the highs 71 and change. I’ll take my quick 300 bucks and run.

I wonder about that. The 2 year Treasury had already traded down to 3.5%, so is the Fed merely following the free market? Or is the market anticipating the Fed?olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 11:24 amRate cut will cost Berkshire 3 Billion in interest earnings.
Gold miners seesawed up, and then DOWN! I assume the latter was in reaction to hawkish comments from chairpowell during the presser, but who cares what he thinks? He's a lame duck.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 11:57 amI was able to sell SII just off the highs 71 and change.

I just added to my EMD holdings. It pays monthly about 10 percent a year. Over the last 18 years, it has returned 193 percent. Not bad.

I own EMLC and VWOB.
EMD may be more aggressive. During the tariff crash in April, EMD plunged 10% while the others dipped only a couple of percent. But in the recovery, EMD has pulled ahead of the others.
Today I bought more FLO Flowers, at 13.33. I've been chasing it down since 15.51.
My only other buy this week was BMA Banco Macro.

I read a lot about BMA. It’s still on my watch list to grab some on a dip. The 2 you mentioned above hopefully will do well with the Fed rate cuts and probably 2 more to go. I would like to pick up BNA at about 41

I love-hate the opening moments of trading. Stocks often move sharply for no apparent reason, but bid-ask spreads usually need several minutes to settle down.
For example, I wanted to buy GGAL (Grupo Galicia) but was looking at a nearly 40-cent spread on a 28-handle stock. Now I'm stuck waiting for a pullback. Same for BMA, which dropped below 42 for a moment or so. I'm holding out for a near 26 entry into YPF. Let's see if my discipline serves me well.
edit: GGAL filled at 28.68
