With regard to the shutdown... that should be obvious.
I've always believed Congress should not get their paychecks until they pass a balanced budget.
It's been 24 years since that happened.

Some have stated that they will not accept it as long as the G is down.

I read today that only 27 percent of the Govt shuts down. The rest operates pretty normally. I didn’t get the details.

There are some necessary services that remain pretty much intact but those workers work but may not get paid until there is funding in place. Some departments, like the VA, that pretty much remain operating normally and those workers do get paid. USPS self-funded? Don't we wish. Congressional subsidy's, on a regular basis, keeps them afloat.
