Red on a green day.

Gold miners are being carried out on a stretcher.

I'd like to see a 10% decline before repurchasing any of my trimmed shares. On the equivalent Friday (October 16th) in 1987, NEM Newmont initiated an epic collapse. Within the span of four sessions, NEM fell from 50 to 20.

In the prior year (15 months), it had run up from 10 to 50.

Off to the races again! 😂. No buys for me. Looking to sell into strength.

I did several miner purchases approaching the session lows. From there they retraced a little, and now have improved another 1% in overtime.

I'll be ready for action Monday.

NUGT was down 26 points today but still up 9 for the week, miners still going higher I would say this is a chance to get in on the sell off

I like the miners, but my enthusiasm is much diminished. Miners need high metal prices, and it's not clear to me that gold is cheap at $4250. For 10 years according to Morningstar, GLD has averaged 13.21% total return. VT world stock market is lagging at 11.23 including divvys. That's not normal.

GDX is 18.15, pulling ahead after trailing for many years.

I'm trying to reduce to a 10% miner allocation, currently a little above that. Yesterday's selloff helped me toward that goal, lol.

No miners at the moment, but will buy on a selloff.

First purchase of the day, GDX at 75.63 (down 6% in pre-market).

An hour from now, that'll probably look either ridiculous or brilliant.

edit: again at 75.48

75.26

75.13

Just got SBSW at 10.43, and 10.41.

I'm going to line up some really low limit orders (stink bids) in case the miners panic on the open.

The former.

That was disorderly. My GDX and GDXJ orders filled correctly, but my SBSW didn't fill when it apparently should have.

Best buys so far: SBSW 10.25, GDX 73.83, and GDXJ 96.66.

GDX:

Miners are down about 15% from last week's high.

I'm gonna need a bigger boat.
