Ditto! I still test my knees when I see one on the ground and pick it up if it isn’t too too dirty. Of course we shot marbles, pitched baseball cards, and other games we made up. The girls always beat me in Jacks though! On a good day of winning, we would bike off to the penny candy store about a mile away. The losers went too and we all shared the spoils. You could fill a small bag for a dime. . I guess that’s where I got my original yearn for VP. ( The Games ). FAA won’t remember most of this, but he may like this one……On a particularly good day of pitching baseball cards, ( not our good ones ), I racked up 75 cents. We all biked off to the neighborhood Pizza shop ( a very rare treat ) and ordered a small Tomato pie with grated cheese for 60 cents that we shared. We had enough for 2 Pops and I had a dime left over. The owner’s daughter was our server. I think we were both 11 or 12 at the time. I gave her the dime. She was very nice and cute as well. Anyway, 5 years later in High School, we ended up in the same study hall and she remembered. We dated a couple of times and remained friends to this day!
Sorry FAA for partly hijacking your thread. Kinda thought it would fit in with both feasting and gambling too!!

FAA…… next time you want a little extra treat at Panera for no extra cost when you get your hot asiago cheese bagel cut in half of course smear a little butter on it and then sprinkle some natural turbinado cane sugar on it and you have an instant cheese danish. Great for these colder afternoons that are coming. Also, if you have a friend or significant other, you can stagger your Sip club memberships and after a while when one is canceled, you will get an offer for three bucks a month good for several months that’s what we’re doing right now the Mrs. account is active mine has been canceled for a couple of months. Of course I had paid full price for a couple of months before I canceled.
Right now, a new member can get their first 3 months in the club for five bucks a month.
