This was one source Tech going way back to the Bible. I will look for the other one, but there are several.
The best explanation comes from the Library of Congress. If you type in loc.gov red sky in the morning sailors take warning, it should come right up and should look like this. Pretty long article, but very interesting. Sorry, for some reason, I never learned how to on this site post an exact link.

Regarding the storm, Olds and Mrs Olds and others on the forum stay safe. Thankfully, we are not impacted here in Metro Phoenix. Family back east is/will be.
