Speaking of which, check some of FAA’s posts and the great hands he hits, but with the wrong game or coin in….and believe me, I’m no genius even after 30 years of playing VP, but the old phrase does resonate with me. “ back to basics “.

Unfortunately, you can’t dodge good hands showing up in the wrong game; as long as the odds aren’t zero, they’re bound to occur eventually, sooner or later.

I know. It just pains me to see them especially if you have been playing DDB and hitting none of the good hands, then give up and play JOB for some sessions only to see the great hands dropping in out of the sky. I know it’s still considered short term. Still hurts.

Yeah, I can definitely agree — it stings on a psychological level. I’ve been dealt 4AWK on NSU plenty of times, and instead of hearing that sweet auto‑lock music for $100K on $25 TDB, I end up with $500 after the draw most of the time. Every single time it happens, I catch myself wishing I’d known ahead of time so I could’ve been on 9/7 TDB from the start.
One thing that helps me keep it in perspective is this: if I had been playing TDB, I probably wouldn’t have seen that exact deal anyway, because the timing would’ve been completely different. In the long run, it all evens out.
And in terms of luck, anyone who’s played enough will agree - a winning session isn’t the real “luck”. The true luck is getting the right premium hand on the right game. That’s what actually moves the needle.

That’s for sure. The last time I had “ true “ luck was back in 2016. 18,000 each on two completely different games, but in the same gaming day. One dealt Royal on Bonus deuces DDS and the other dealt Deuces with an Ace on Bonus Deuces Wild Spin poker on multiple lines. Dollar game. DDS was a quarter game, but 18 quarters bet.
