vp.com websites mostly ask that you pick the optimal hand given the cards dealt; e.g., on Training Tuesday. Simple strategies will be right most of the time and will be close virtually all of the time (without defining "close" too closely), but they will not get you perfect scores on most sets of practice hands.

And yes the strategy chances for the numbers you suggested. The strategies of almost any video poker game change with most changes in final hand values.

Very slightly though given the same game type. If you had to learn one strategy learn the higher paying one, so 9/6 jacks or better for you. It will be good enough on 8/5 jacks, with most of the changes in the three to a straight flush and two high card area.
