IF YOU GO DURING THE SUMMER THERE ARE A COUPLE OF BEACH BARS THAT ARE GREAT. THE TRUMP MARINA HAS THE DECK THAT OVERLOOKS THE MARINA. THEY ALL HAVE GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS AND YOU CAN USE YOUR COMPS THERE.
THEY USUALLY SHUT DOWN 1 WEEK AFTER LABOR DAY.

Forgot all about those neat bars. The Marina thing is great and they have(still) I think the crowning of "Miss Deckadance" each Friday night? Read where Trump Marina has been sold to  Coastal Marina LLC and will become  a Jimmy Buffet  " Margaritaville".

Trump must have needed cash, if selling just after they combined operations of their three propertys.

I've been to A C but not for several years and that's why I would push to go out there. I do enjoy the boardwalk and seeing the ocean, it's quite a sight to see. Trump is having problems selling condos in his new Chicago building and he tried to renig on deals he made with people who "pre-bought" and that brought on a couple law suits against him. Either way I'm guessing we'll never see any tag days being held for him.  Good luck to all,  Ted.

Thanks everyone for your interesting input on this topic! ginxxxx: congratulations on placing in THE CONTEST! Love your clever idea for a tee-night shirt.....including "NO and don't ask me again"! faygo and Tedlark are right about the boardwalk-ocean being very cool! When I hear that someone is leery about safety issues or run down appearances at gambling areas, I refer them to Laughlin. IMO, that seems to be the tamest, most laid back of any of many gambling sites I have visited. There's no place to go off the strip there, as in rough neighborhoods that tend to surround most gambling areas. The beautiful Colorado River is on one side and just the route on the other side. The nearby town appears neat, clean and pleasant. For other gambling areas, be aware of your surroundings and on your guard. Do not wear expensive jewelry, take high end luggage or count your wins in public ("do as I say, not as I do"). I was surprised at Borgata that I could get $1500 out of the redemption machine on a single ticket. It seems that in casinos in our area one has to go to cashier for even $600 TITO. I believe that for security and counting the larger $ wins, one is better off at cashier window. When there is the possibility of money coming into town, criminals are attracted from pick pockets and more. Stick to the populated casino area and do not venture off on side streets, especially at night. IMO AC is on a par with Reno in many respects. In Vegas, I found a community center type place to use a computer, down the side street from Stratosphere on the side away from Fremont St. It's just past a little convenience store and sets back in away from the street. However, I was too uncomfortable with people on the street staring and will not go there alone again. Go ahead and try it and let us know your opinions.

Marie, too many seedy areas surrounding the strip and downtown properties. Best to stick to the mainstream areas for safety reasons. Some places I feel uncomfortable even driving at night. Logged many miles around Clark Co. looking for the better off mainstream casinos. Just be wary of your surroundings. If it doesn't look right, don't go!

I agree with the seediness. It's sad that you can't even tether your horse out front of a casino these days without a bike lock.

Marie - I've redeemed as much as $3,000.00 from the TITO redemption machines here in Illinois. Good luck,  Ted.

Thanks for good advice, Ed da Cat and TITO info, Tedlark. Scorpio 2: I printed Atlantic City casino map   www.atlantic-city-online.com/map.shtml to take on our trip. Adjust the map size so casinos # 1 (Hilton) through # 11 (Harrah's Atlantic CIty) are visible and hand print the names of casinos on the corresponding numbers. On the flip side, I printed out info from logging on   Total Express Shuttle for Total Rewards Members   which provides times (7 days, 10 AM-2:00 AM) and FOUR specific places to catch their shuttle. I provided my Diamond total rewards card at Borgata card booth and received "My Borgata BLACK LABEL" players card and $100 free play in Nov. They enter it into a machine for you to retrieve with your card and pin. Husband has "My Borgata RED LABEL" from using a different player's card and maybe showed his platinum total rewards Harrah's card. He also received that $100 free play, in Nov., once only per person when you first apply for players card. Black label has a separate line at buffet, so it must be an up grade based on diamond card shown when I applied. I understood others on our flight received the $100 free play and had no special players card to offer, just another casino card. Clerk will probably explain that you do not have to use the entire $100 free play at the same machine...just sign up for fraction as $20 and then you can play another machine on another fraction from that $100. Because of diamond total rewards status, charter flight offers with rooms have been mailed, some free as Tunica and AC and some with fee as Tahoe and Reno (some that exceed Spirit on line flight rates). My husband used my extra diamond card to keep racking up points for further offers on my account and help keep my diamond status. He usually plays black jack tables without using player's card. Flights, rooms and diamond lounge allow a guest/husband on my card. We want to see exciting postings after your trip! LUCK!  We saved  the city aquarium to see on another trip. There is a large aquarium in Harrah's Atlantic City casino.

WHEN YOU GET UP GRADED TO BLACK CARD AT THE BORGATA. MAY I SUGGEST YOU TRY THE PLAYERS CLUB CALLED THE AMPHORIA LOUNGE. TO ENTER THE CLUB YOU MUST HAVE THE BLACK OR TITANIUM CARD AND $10 IN COMP DOLLARS PER PERSON. THE FOOD AS GOOD AS THE BUFFET AND THE DRINKS ARE FREE (EVRYTHING IS FREE ). IF WANT TO RELAXE A LITTLE SIT IN THE MEDIA CENTER AND WATCH TV. THEY HAVE 8- 60in. TV`s. GOOD PLACE TO WATCH A BALLGAME. IMO AMPHORIA LOUNGE IS THE BEST PLAYERS CLUB IN ATLANTIC CITY.
FYI- THE TITANIUM CARD AT THE BORGATA IS FOR THE REAL HIGH ROLLARS.
