Well, I have a Gibson ES-335 (Epi Clone called a Sheraton) and a Frankenstrat (Fender Prodigy) in electric guitars and a Seagull acoustic.I'll let him play the acoustic with me holding it and when he gets too rough with it, I put it up.  It's worth too much to let him trash.  The same with the Epi.But I bought the Frankenstrat to mess with slides thinking it would be a good one for the alternate tunings.  I let him bang on that plugged into my little Marshall practice amp all he wants.  All I can say is that he can ring some interesting sounds out of it!
