Simple 10/7 VP Question !!!

Post by DOUBLE B »

"IF" you budgeted $200 a day for 10/7 VP. How would you play it.

Example might be::
4 $20 sessions on    .25$ machines (4 x .25 = $80)
3 $20 sessions on    .50$ machines (3 x 20 =  $60)
3 $20 sessions on $1.00  machines (3 x 20 =  $60)
                                                               total $200
and at anytime I had double my money I would pocket it and not replay the winnings. Example--if I was playing the .50$ machine and had put in $20 and got to $20 winnings, I would pocket the $20 and not put it back in...win, lose, or break even.

I have no particular reason for asking this other than I am not a "big time" VP player (I can't afford it) but I do love to play when I go to Vegas. I can drop $200 a day to VP and not sweat it...and at the  same time have hopes of hitting the Royal.

I have played numerous times in Vegas and I just thought I might try a "plan" this time instead of just willy/nilly dropping $200. Either way I will have fun, so it's no big deal. Just curious what the pro's would do with only $200

on a $200 daily budget on a game with wide flutuations i would play quarters as you are very likely to wipe out your bankroll quickly

$200 a day is what I budget for VP daily in Las Vegas.  I find a 10/7 DB or 10/6 DDB SINGLE LINE NICKEL machine in Fantasy Land out there and pray.  There have been  times I couldn't make it through a day on $200 playing nickels.  Other times, I never put in more than my initial $5 100-credit buy-in.Variance is a Killer...or Savior!

$200 at more than quarters could be gone in a few minutes playing DDB. I would play quarter deuces myself if that is all I had. Unless a few minutes is enough to satisfy. But who knows, maybe you will hit early and get more out of it.

double B; Realistically, $200 even at the quarter level can be gone quickly depending upon your VP game of choice. As Mike noted, sometimes, that variance will kill you and your budgeted bankroll. I, like a few on this forum, don't necessarily have the gaming per diem that most do but make the most out of it by practice and good paytables. If the paytables aren't available at your favorite casino, either you find better or accept the consequences although some people walk right in and hit right off the bat on a paytable most here wouldn't play.
In closing, common sense applies and have fun!

The perfect scenario would be to have full pay available for a nickel. Play full coin at quarter for a while but shift quickly to nickel before funds get real low so as to stretch out your daily session to your liking. Obviously if you get ahead you can raise denom if you choose, but bear in mind that quarter royals are not w2'd.

See if you can find nickle machines that let you play 20 credits at a time.  Actually a $1 bet but they go slowly as the pay outs sort of beep beep beep up at a slow pace, and they are a lot of fun.  A Royal can net you $800.  Also drink a lot of liquid of any sort so you need to take a lot of bathroom breaks.  That can kill some time...I don't worry as much as some about the pay table when I'm playing nickles or dimes.  Just relax and have fun.  I save pay table obsession for  quarters and up....

Since it is your $200 you can do what ever you want. What you are sacrificing with an approach like this is playing time. It is a tradeoff vs a chance at a big win. So, it gets down to priorities. Is it more important to get in several hours of play vs several minutes? Or, is it more important to have a chance at a big payoff.

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions. I have pretty much had run most of the suggestions through my head. I think Shadowman pretty much hit it on the head. I am aiming to get in at least 1 or 2 hours of play with the hopes of hitting something nice. Nice being a Royal with at least a quarter full play. I play 10/7 DB exclusively and I have lot's of hours playing in Vegas over the years and hours and hours of practice play on most of the Training Videos Available. So I am consistently around 100% correct play...if/when I do make incorrect plays it is because of careless play, because I do know what is/was the correct play. I play only in the Casinos with 10/7 DB and as everyone knows they are getting harder and harder to find. It's no big deal, I just go to where they are. When I finish in one casino I just go to the next one on my list with 10/7 DB.
 Again, Thanks For Your Imput.
