Unusal Event - Cruise ship
Surprise!!!!
We were recently on a cruise ship and I got a Royal Flush (25 cents) paying full value ($1000).
I didn't think that happened on cruise ships.

Yes, I've had the same experience last week on Celebrity Infinity from
Seattle to Alaska. Kept and Ace and filled it! Later, same machine, on
dueces wild hit with 2's so not as good a payoff. Already booked same
ship and room to So America from Fl to San Diego late March. Will try my
luck on same machine. They automatically hold cards, but sometimes I
over ride with better results. Really enjoyed the trip!

I didn't think that happened on cruise ships. WTG! I also had that fortunate experience on a three night cruise to Nassau from Cape Kennedy, FL. I needed the 10 D and voila! That paid for our fun cruise! I had agonized about hitting the ATM just moments before and that proved a good move! When in doubt, hit the ATM! Crew members acted as if that had never happened before and just maybe they were being sincere! I am confident it was not supposed to happen but overjoyed to see it! Cruise ship VP has been discussed on various posts and notorious for not being giving. There are no gambling regulations on the high seas and any VP machines I have heard about are relics w mediocre pay tables!

Boopsahoy
The cruiseline was Celebrity, ship Infinity. The payscale was 6/5 so not
VG but the DDB was normal. Just had a hot machine with lots of small
quads and aces(no kickers).

Im going in January on a Nowegian cruise-i think its my 14th? I hit a royal the first time I played on a cruise (hooked me on VP) and none since then but I have seen them hit at least 2x a trip. You have to get a royal to beat those paytables!

I have seen a Royal progressive hit, on the same cruise, I hit 4 Aces for $400.00. I dont think the machines are "fixed", just lousy pay tables.

I did find a full-pay Joker Wild Ks or better machine on MS Volendam (Holland America), the only one in a bank of multiplay progressive machines. Didn't hit the RF tho. It may or may not still be there. See the story under "Favorite Casinos."
