ANOTHER FREE ROOM OFFER!

Post by vidopoker »

marie: speaking of offers rollling in. In today's mail came an offer from the Venetian or Palazzo. I have stayed at the Venetian 2 x before when i worked for my old job but i was never on their mailing list, never had a players card and never received any other offers from them before.

just goes to show you have desperate they are for biz. Where did they get my name from? Old hotel check-in records?

This offer includes:
-2 or 3 free nights in a luxury suite at palazzo or venetian
-$250 in slot credit (apparently only for use on one machine) or Table match play
-gold card status through march 2009
-basket filled with champagne, chocolate and spa products
-2 for 1 spa club one day pass

valid through January 31, 09

vidopoker: Have a great time! 'Hope that delicious offer is still available by the time you try making reservations. The newest, Palazzo, is most likely to be booked. Our offer was only for two nights in Nov with vague dates but they worked for us. My husband believes the rooms are all designed as suites at those two properties. We loved staying at Venetian on previous trips. We can only hope this offer is the first of many plush offers by casinos to lure tourists during these uncertain economic times.

scorpio: does not specify chocolate kind (LOL) but it does say you can request a basket with non-alcoholic beverages.
marie: i most likely will not use this offer since i already have 3 nights comped elsewhere. i will offer it to my mom and a friend of her if they want to go and i will check them in. if they don't go, i will still check in there to possibly stay a night there and to def. take advantage of the $250 slot credits. (and the gift basket although i don't drink and don't like chocolate!)

as previously mentioned, been to the venetian 2 x before with work and the rooms are nice. i really really don't like the casino at the palazzo at all so i would probably opt for venetian. went to the palazzo twice and it seemed so considering all that money they spent on it. i just don't particulary care about staying on the strip. it is such a hassel to get in and out of the lots, unless it's one of the hotels that has a back entrance like bally's or paris.

chocolate is for us health nuts. I have to agree with you! A friend's mom was given a limited time to live. She philosophically said "If I am going to die, I am going to eat all the chocolate I want!" She did and she lived another 15 years! "Suites" sound more spacious than they actually are. It's more of a large rectangular room divided into sleeping area closest to the entry door.  A step or two separates the two areas to the sitting room w sofa, etc. They are more open to each other with a spindle wood railing between than separated. There's a plazma flat wall TV in each section on the same wall perpendicular to the windows, with a remote for each. Yet another remote operates the two sets of drapes. Definitely a cut above a standard Vegas hotel room and very cool!

called earlier and booked the room. no problems. Both hotels were open on that Friday-Sunday date and it works out perfectly. my parents are going to go (and will celebrate my mom's bday since it's a week before). They will get the free room and the gift basket (with the champagne, spa supplies, and of course the chocolate) and i get the $250 in free slot credits.

i've never seen a hotel offer free slot credits and limit it only to one machine, but whatever.

btw, if you ever get free slot credits from the hooters hotel and casino, don't bother. i tried that last time i was there and you can only use one of 6 machines AND you don't get to keep any of the credits. you have to hit one of the 2 highest payouts or get 1,700 credits just to get $50. what a waste of my time!

Yes, Marie, I found the Venetian rooms to be very nice on my 2 previous visits, however, for some reason, i enjoy staying at the more unluxurious places for some reason. A suite does not do anything for me. Especially since I spend 18 hours a day in the casino, a nice, clean room works just fine (obviously I wouldn't stay at the Wild Wild West Motel but I don't need the Wynn either).

Marie,
I had the same offer from Harrahs for Jan 2-5...so are you saying it's already sold out and to not bother?  I was kind of excited to go then.

Hey, go ahead and try! What happened to that positive, fighting spirit? Let us know if anything exciting comes of that call. Besides, maybe there was a cancellation for you! My husband called on another Harrah's offer up to five free nights from our email invitation and was told Bally's, Paris and Caesar's were sold out. I then called the 800 number from the mailed offer and booked three nights at a Harrah's property. Reservationist said the offer was over, although it was advertised as good through Nov. The current offer is now for two nights. I assume a block of rooms is set aside for those offers and that has no bearing on how many rooms are actually available at that property. She made a note of my four requests with no promises, including near the elevator and overlooking the strip. Not to worry over traffic noises from the strip. Either we are too tired to notice, the rooms are well sound-proofed or too high up to be affected by street traffic or all of the above. If Spirit air lines flies between your location to Vegas, contact them and ask to be on their e mail list for special flight rates. We assume they are filling regular flights with those super specials.

like Marie, I always ask for a room near the elevator when I check in and usually get it. Last time I was the second room off the elevator (and around the corner). Since I don't stay on the strip, I don't ask for a strip view but then again, even if I was on the strip, I'm not in my room enough to make a big deal about the view. But I'm sure it's nice to have a good view.

When my aunt and uncle were at the bellagio in June, they had a PERFECT view of the fountains and the strip.

Marie, what are you thoughts as to where the hotels are getting people's names for the mailers? I stayed at Venentian twice years back with work but never had a players card. Maybe they buy old lists from Casino Player Magazine as I used to subscribe to it? I got an offer a few months back from the El Cortez hotel in downtown and I've never stepped foot in there before and twice quite a few years back got a random mailing from Harrah Entertainment.
