I couldn't agree more on both accounts! I don't know about "selective" memory but it seems I lose more often than I win. If I logged more sessions in and kept track of my play, I'm sure it would even out. Many don't know proper play strategy. I know two people who don't but still manage to win some good ones now and again. They also lose a lot. Can you imagine having Verna sit next to you and ask which cards to hold practically every deal? Thats what my lady friend does to me. Lucky I'm tolerant. Maybe I should send her to VPtruth.com?

I guess that "selective memory" works opposite for me than for you.  Since I seldom play $.25 machines and virtually never play $1 machines, I don't hit much of anything at the quarter level.  I just don't give it a fair chance!  I do play a lot of short pay nickel though.  One could argue that I'd be better off either not playing or that I should move to quarters and play less.

There is Merritt in both of those arguments!

MikeA, BD just responded to a similar question in Strictly Slots. His vote was to play .25 VP 1 coin at a time on a better paytable then a full load of nickels on an inferior paytable.

I've done that many times Faygo.  In fact, I think we discussed the "whens" and "whys" of that in another topic a few months (years?) ago here.

Yes, I believe the reduction in return due to short coin is around 1.2-1.3%. Therefore, any (non-wild game ) short coin paytables with a total increase of "2" units for the FH and FL will provide a better return.

I am sure he could use some new business about now.
I hear the soup lines are very long in Phx Az.

What/Who are you referring to?!?!?

What/Who are you referring to?!?!? OEJ was referring to the genius of VP at VPtruth.com. Fa La La La La.... La la la la, Argentino, whatever you wish to call him. Most call him by cursing. Playing the short coin game was an option I did for a short period of time. Better paytable short coin would indeed be a better bet but what happens when that elusive hand hits? full coin nickels pays $200,full coin pennies pays $80 but short coin quarters pays $62.50. Tough call to make but I would be grateful for sixty two bucks even!
