Detroit and Windsor have four huge casinos about an hour from us, depending on traffic. Two I find exciting and visit too often and the other two hold little interest for me. All are fine facilities, nice personnel, great food and good parking. It's all about the wins!

the harrahs cherokee casino in tennesee was a small local casino, years back, don't know now.

Just thought I would mention that Harrahs Cherokee is in North Carolina not Tennesee.

Here, we have many local casinos. Not a lot in the FP dept. except for some DW games and a few stray games with near positive paytables. Ask Vidopoker for more exact details when he returns from Vegas.

I'm about 45 min from Mohegan Sun and 55 min from Foxwoods.  I'd gladly go to Mohegan any day but tend not to visit Foxwoods - just too massive and the new MGM Grand doesn't have much in the way of VP.

Having been to AC and Mohegan at Pocono I tell my dh that if he wants to play we might as well stay in CT...close to home and very friendly.

my nearest "local" casino is 75 minutes away if there is no traffic. it's nice b/c it's freeway close which in southern california is not always the case for indian casinos (like barona, chumash, et al.) and the vp paytables are very decent for an indian casino and actually better than some vegas casino.

what i don't like is the shady crowd that is always there and the fact that you can never play blackjack without someone coming in and out of the game every 2 minutes.

the other nearest casino is almost 2 hours away, is a pain in the ass to get to and the parking sucks there not to mention the WORST VP paytables i have ever laid my eyes on. they did however (or at least used to when i was there a few years back) have double deck 21 for $25 and on the 6 deck games, you could split aces up to 4 times. that casino is the only one around for hours so it's always packed.

Our favorite casino is Red Rock in Vegas. Our local casinos are two hours away from Houston in Lake Charles. LAuuerge du Lac is our favorite casino in Lake Charles to stay. Newer beautiful rooms, pool area, and amenities. But the run down Isle of Capri in Lake Charles has better pay tables and certainly pays off much better. Unfortunately, IOC-LC is now reducing their number of VP machines and lowering their pay tables. The slot personnel and marketing personnel have consistently changed procedures and policies in ways that penalize the VP players over the past year. The new slot director doesn't play VP and seems to care less about VP.

I'm about 60min. from Mohegan, 70 min. from Foxwoods. Foxwoods is just a wasteland when it comes to video poker and the Grand is really an uninspired bland casino. It feels like an extension of Foxwoods, rather than something different and new. Most of Foxwoods business comes from Mass. and Rhode Island. "Locals" definitely prefer Mohegan's gaming over Foxwoods. For those who are staying over for the night, Foxwoods standard rooms are still superior to Mohegan's, although Mohegan's rooms are much newer than Foxwoods Pequot and Cedar Hotels.

Oops, almost forgot to answer the question.
No, neither one. LOL.

Mohegan doesn't do cashback. Only Foxwoods does.
