What type of mushroom were you hunting?  Those sure are not the mushrooms I remember as a kid! Wilcox, FYI, the law enforcement folks aren't too keen about hallucinogenic mushrooms but they sure were interesting to say the least. Ah, the foolish things we did as teenagers.

Wilcox...great memories with your grandfather!  I have some very similar memories of my youth.
 I have spent the past three weeks or so spending every possible moment in the woods.  Not the best season around here but over that time I probably found about 30 lbs... which we sell, eat or give away.  Not the best season but always fun!
Now it's back to VP!

rfonlymama  what part of Iowa do you live in?  My folks are south central part and they had a really difficult time finding any this year.  I guess it was weather but they did go to a few places to buy a few pounds.

Good morning wilcox!   I live in the CR/Iowa City area and do have access to some private lands so that helps!  I'm glad your folks were able to find a few to eat even if they did have to purchase them!   Tasty little morsels!
