Re: Little help
Vp is actually a huge part of the place when you first walk in if vp is your game then you are in vp heaven because they have it all. The paytables are pretty much the same as far as what is offered at all the casinos in this area. But no question about the vp patrons, they don't have a clue. Its was actually 93% at one casino and 83% at the other. I guess it would be safe to say the one casino has patrons that are 10% dumber than the other. I like to play the 100 play DDB when I go there but you can go thru some bucks quick. I told this story before but I'll repeat it again I've saw two things that blew my mind in this casino coming from players:
Player 1: while playing DDB vp was dealt 4 A's while playing, held all 5 cards and hit the draw button, never went for the kicker.
Palyer 2: while playing next to another player the player ask me what he should do. He was dealt A of spades, Q of hearts, K of spades, J of spades, 10 of spades. I told him to toss the Q of hearts and go for the royal. When he decided he would hold the straight I offered to buy the shot from him for $20 (he was playing $1 denom at max). No deal, he took the straight and I just couldn't get over his stupidity.

pokerguy, based on the two observations you gave , I'm suprised the return is 83%.
No. 1 reminds me of an answer Bob Dancer gave to the question whether you should hold all 5 cards to avoid a machine malfunction. Of course, his response was "no" for the very reason of your example. You could forget what game you were playing where the kicker is important and inadvertanly goof up. I enjoyed him saying that he holds the quads only, hits deal and thinks happy thoughts.
What Casinos are these numbers from? Are they reported locally only? I could also understand the 83% if that casino was using a central lottery to determine results and not RNG machines.

Those numbers go way back to when they were very new. I haven't seen any other numbers reported. The vp machines are RNG and the only thing the numbers reveal to me is the difference in the class of players the two casinos get. I see a huge majority of vp players there that don't play max and really have no idea how to play. I'm a nobody at the big casinos but my guess is I'd be among the biggest players they had. They try very hard to attract more players but this is a tough area because we have our share of casinos around here. Whether it be wrong or right I've decided I'd rather be a little fish in a big pond than a big fish in a little pond.
