Quad Aces At The Same Time

Post by Lucky Larry »

My wife and I just returned from a quick trip to La. to play at our favorite casino. We were hesitant to go since we are scheduled to stay New Year's Eve at the casino and for a brother's birthday next week, and we had just gotten back from being snowed in in Vegas a few days before Christmas. But, we decided to make a quick overnight trip. We were hoping for one more RF before the EOY. Play last night was lousy for my wife and I broke even but no RF. After lunch we decided to try one more time with the night's before winnings. Split it up between us. I am down to my last $40 as my wife hits 4 Aces w/kicker off of her last $40 playing DDB. The machine she is playing is prone to throwing out Aces so she continues to play. I sit beside her with my last money and get several good hits on DW. Within thirty minutes she hits quad Aces again. DW goes cold so I move to DDB and what a shock. As we are playing beside each other we both hit quad Aces at the same time. We laugh about passing the Aces down to each other. My DDB goes streaky again so I move to Double Deuces and hit 4 deuces holding two on the third hand.

By now it was past time to go! We even have extra money for New Year's Eve. We laughed several time on the way home about us both hitting quad Aces at the same time. What are those odds?   Still didn't get our RF but we still have Wednesday night.

Happy New Year to Everyone!

congrats Larry...

I remember a few years back i was heading home from las vegas and stopped for some last minute gambling as what was then the Primm Valley Casino (now Terrible's Primm). Anyway, there were 4 vp machines next to each other and two players sitting next to each other both hit royal flushes within three minutes of each other. kinda reminded me of your situation....

best of luck on your next trip.... i hit a royal in vegas last weekend and it was great considering i was down some big $!

vidopoker,
Congratulations on your RF. I was wondering how you did on your trip to LV. I know the feeling - being down and then hitting. What were you playing?
Your story reminded me of Sept. 06 when my wife hit a RF while I was watching, waiting for an open machine and within a few minutes I hit one on the one that opened down from her. We had just been playing VP a few months at that time and were playing at Delta Downs in Vinton, La. Since then we have learned so much about VP and have become VP missionaries to all we meet. Everyone in the family now plays VP to some extent and we advocate VP to all of our friends and even strangers who ask about it.

Have a great New Year and may 2009 bring you more RF's.

Hi LL,

I was playing at the orleans. although their pay schedules suck and I always want to go elsewhere to get better pay, I am always too lazy to do so esp. since most of my vp play takes place late at night.

anyway, the royal was hit on quarter 5-play double double bonus and so where all of the other hits except the 4 2,3,4 with a,2,3,4 which i hit at the gold coast. problem was it cost me $600 to hit the $500 and i ended up losing it all back!

The royal i hit took place at around 7 am the morning I left and right after i hit the royal, i went back to the 21 tables to try to get my money back. the first dealer (who i knew well from the stardust days) was hotter than hot. she won about 90% of the hands for the 20 minutes she dealt to me but it was great catching up with her. when the next dealer came in, i made 90% of my money back in about 20 minutes. i was just putting out huge stacks of $25 chips in the betting circle and winning almost every hand. Finally, i lost 3 hands in a row and left for bed.

After checkout, I won about $250 more at the orleans before i left and then another $150 or so at terrible's primm before finally heading back to la.

looking forward to going back (hopefully) in early April, when the weather should be in the low 80s!

Vidopoker,
Played orleans once about 2 years ago. We usually play at Red Rock (100% return on FPDW/DB/LDW). Before Christmas took the kids and stayed on the Strip and played at the Palms for the first time which we really liked. Great hits (RF-Joker) and several other nice hits.

Stayed NY Eve at Lake Charles. Did well (4 Aces/TDB; 4-2's/DW and several quads on DDB) Around 1:00 watched a guy get pay out for 100 hands 5¢-dealt 4 Deuces and hit 10 with Ace kicker for over $5K. Finished the night playing multi-hand 5¢ which I play when I'm tired or need a change. Hit three RF's over next hour to help round out the night. I broke even and won back what my wife had lost. So we finished the night even - a VICTORY in my books. Starting the new year even is a bonus!

LL,
breaking even is always great! I ended up leaving town up around $100 when all was said and done and I was very happy, considering how much i was down so congrats to you!

wow, three royals in an hour? That is unbelieavable!

I have been meaning to check red rock out but never make it up there. I was planning on going over to south point b/c i heard they had full pay on quarter tdb but since my parents were in town and i was with them a good portion of the time didn't make it over there. There's always next time.

Hope this year brings many royals our way!
