Re: Holiday Contest Results, 2008
Cd did you do the reverse backward romp thru town, or a combo of pattern opposite detection with some cold cyles thrown in?
Way to go pal.
Yes, plus FPBELWTV. I also took the thermometer on the side of my PC and turned it upside down.
As Paul said, you start sweating bullets when you get to those last 20 hands with a good score going, hoping that you don't hit a 3tree or something with a miracle draw that blows you out of the water. It really was a nice twist, like having two contests in one.

Really enjoyed the tournament. Was hoping for a T-Shirt win though. Can't wait till the next one.

To that Denver, Co fella, I'm sort of envious and I'm sure you employed some special plays (which I'd rather not learn) to get those lower end scores from a seasoned veteran VP player. I'll gladly make good on my offer but you'll have to wait for the UPS guy.

It would have been nice to get a half decent score after all the games that I played. Very disappointing after awhile. I don't care about winning, but it would have been nice to see a score of over 6500 which seemed to be my highest game, no matter how I played. Never even got close to a Royal in any of the hundreds of games that I have played in the tournaments. Why is that????????
Thanks,

6500 probably is in the top half of all the scores.
I was happy to hit 6000.

You've got plenty of company, so don't feel too bad - my best was about 6700, with no RF's or Aces w/kicker to be seen during the contest.

I thnk lou is on to something. You just need to say "Nothing! Come on, give me nothing!" with your fingers crossed behind your back. I bet that's what the winner with more than 70,000 did!
I bet this is also a good way to get the attention of casino hosts.
