did you read the top rising 24 jobs on msn.com.all are to do with computers, annalysts, specialists, data think tanks.i didn't see gamblers listed at all, don't they even get a cost of living raise?

Since I'm a retired computer guy, let me handle this one. I got a raise last year in my gambling results. In fact, it was a larger % raise than I ever got working "with computers, annalysts, specialists, data think tanks".

I always consider taxes.

No state taxes in NV so that helps me now. Used to pay lots more taxes when I worked for a living. Of course, I used to make more money then too. I just noted I had a bigger raise, not that I made more money.

Are you anti-technology in other respects? Why would you think mathematics works fine in the operation of all that technology sitting right in front of you as you read this post, but believe it doesn't work when imbedded in a VP machine?

SM, you're behind the times.  Rob's new view for 2009 is that the RNG's would be random but that the casinos have been tinkering with them lately to reduce payouts, so for the forseeable future he won't be playing except with casino incentives.  So much for the 2008 un-tinkered (but flawed) RNG's with patterns.  Flip, flop.    He didn't say, but this must mean that he won't be doing any training for a while - he'd hardly expect clients to risk their cash at a time when it's not worth risking his own.  Why, that would be unethical.

I hope everyone who had personal training on 2008 RNG's gets their money back when the special plays stop working with 2009 RNG's.

CD, I really do wonder if anyone who reads those newsletters believes what he writes. VP machine chips are sealed by the manufacturers so they can tell if they have been tampered with. They also have other security measures like checksums. If a casino tampered with the chips they wouldn't work, or if they replaced the chips with something else then it would be obvious in any audit by a gaming commission.

It does make for a good laugh, though, to read that nonsense.
