Re: Live Tournaments
OK ShadowM...Now you have me really confused. How can you hit all those
RFin a tourney unless the machines are rigged for that to occur...If ALL
machines use the same RNG then in a tourney since you are playing against others
players the pay out would be irrelevant. If everyone is getting 35 for a FH so
what. What is the difference between a Standard machine and a Higher Return
machine...
Question no. 2. If the Basic Dancer rules are the ones to follow then why
in a tourney would you go more for the Royals and quads. Why not do that all
the time?

You can't guarantee that you'll hit all those RF's in a tournament. You just want to increase your odds at getting one. It's very unlikely no matter what strtegy you play, but you might as well increase your chances because someone is going to get one and it might as well be you.
Why go for just royals and quads? Because you don't get to keep what you play unless you are a top scorer, and you don't lose anything more if you finish one spot below a prize score or in dead last. Some people play for a low prize in the middle and that's fine. Then other hands become more important. But if you want to win, you simply will not do so unless you hit a royal, so that becomes your top priority.
It is entirely different than playing with your own money every hand. If you do nothing but go for royals in normal casino play, you almost certainly get one at some point. But you might spend a lot more than 4000 credits to hit it. Soy ou want to win the smaller hands along the way to increaes your chances. In a tournament, you don't care about that fact because it is usually a relatively fixed number of hands any way and really nothing to lose.

The number of royals I mentioned was for ALL players. Sorry about the confusion.
The average number of hands to hit a RF is 40,799 in 9/6 DDB. That number is based on playing perfect strategy. If you like to go for royals when other holds have a better return then that average number of hands goes down.
If all you ever did was go for royals the average number of hands drops to around 23K. As you can see the strategy you employ does make a big difference.

Well that makes sense. those little hands do keep you in the game and I like to play for hours. Not out to get rich but just like to relax and enjoy the game....Great information from the pros.....Thanks

When your playing on a Tourn. machine, just shoot for the RF, and the Quadseverything else will take care of its self. Forget about all the hokie pokie ofpercents, and probability's. That's out the window. you need big points in ahurry. Good luck.
