Re: RNG Experiment
Faygo, as long as there's no collusion involved, I guess it's still legal. Who knew Damule would be involved with the darkside.

Isn't this where the thread started?
Casinos know that with randomness and the paytables of negative return games the long term mathematics of the games will make them the winners. It may be sooner for some players, it may be later for some players, but it will happen. The negative return with uncontrolled (random) RNGs can be confirmed with PC simulations.
Casinos can and do increase their take at any time by the legal method of lowering paytables. STILL waiting to hear why casinos would need an illegal second process of messing with the RNG, as well.
All of these conspiracy theories would make more sense if these casino games were positive expectation - returns greater than 100%. Then, the casinos would lure players in with advertised high returns and then control the RNG's to make sure the players made less than a 100% return. Simply not necessary for any negative return game.
Oej, I think you need to send me a "Gulp, gulp". I need it. I think I'll just start betting on the ponies, instead.

To that Denver fella, I think "sip sip" might be more appropriate as hot coffee wouldn't gulp too well unless you're into that masochism stuff. Perhaps some Hennessy or Curvosier to help heal the wounds? I understand you folks are voting for 24 hr. casinos and $100 limits as well as Blackjack/craps/roulette. Sounds like serious stuff CD. We have Calif. craps here in which cards are pulled in the same manner as dice. Perhaps a venti Pikes and a pack of Turkish Camels?

Just to add one small item to CD's post. RNGs are REQUIRED BY LAW.
Scorp, if you're going to continue to throw out these paranoid accusations at least you should try and use some logic. CD has already demonstrated that altering the RNG makes no sense when the casinos can simply lower the paytables. It also makes no sense for the casinos to break the law and risk their licenses. Finally, as has already been mentioned, the casinos DO NOT program the machines. That is done by the machine manufacturers like IGT. The machine chips are sealed, use checksums and are audited by gaming commisions. It would take a very significant effort by a casino to modify the RNG. Why would they do that when they can simply lower the paytables?

Like talking to a brick shadowman. I think a brick would catch on faster.
No offense to bricks of course.
Most here know what trick is being pulled here.
My daddy always said give a fool enough rope and he will hang himself.
I am doing my part. I will even tie the knot for him.
Vroom Vroom.
See everyone at the inauguration hopefuuly.

I'm getting excited about that, myself. If you're going to it, oej, be careful. We all know that you'd be there just to see history in the making, but the Secret Service always has a sharp eye out for known felons in the area, even falsely convicted ones such as yourself. We don't want to see you being wrestled to the ground on national TV.
