Is there something going on?
Dear Members,I've been playing video poker for a number of years. Before 2008, I had made about 12-15 trips to Vegas per year...and in a two year period I had hit 25 Royals, not to mention many large payouts in many of the games. In 2008 thru last week, every trip I have made to Vegas has been a total bust. I'm playing the same strategies, the same machines with the same payouts. My last three trips to the Palms...I couldn't even hit quads in dbp, ddbp or dueces. I'm the last one to cry 'conspiracy theory'... but guess I've just lost my confidence over the past year and wondering; was I just lucky over the past years and finally bad luck catching up? Or have they made machines tighter at the casinos because of lack of tourists? Or what? I have always scoffed at the topic of Casinos tightening down...but now I am wondering...also because a few other people I know who have had the same experiences are also questioning this.So am I paranoid, unlucky, or 'that's the name of the game...gambling?'Thanks for letting me vent :)Randy

I won't speak for others here, but I know the players who frequent the forum that play day in and day out have seen no such trend in their winnings or they would have gotten out of the game several months ago. You also won't have to look far on the forum for many great trips (and of course, some rough ones). Sorry your luck has been lousy.

Thanks Webman. Yeah, I logically know the score, that we all have runs of luck be it good or bad. And I have actually read a few posts tonight that has me feeling better when one member had remarked to someone else "Just keep your head up"... that pretty much says it all. But sometimes we have to vent about the bad luck as well as brag about the good. Thank you for your quick reply.Best Wishes.

If you've never felt like venting, you simply haven't gambled enough yet.

WM's right, if you don't do enough whining people know that you're not an experienced player. Take that tip from a pro. That's pro "whiner", not "player".
Our current Whining Index seems to be down so far this year, we've had more posts with winning stories than losing ones. Feel free to post your stories, good or bad. There's always someone here who can beat them.
It's tough to say much about winning and losing streaks. It's not so much the calendar time they occur over, but the amount of play you get in. I've had runs where I've done better than average with RFs that have lasted two years, I've also had back-to-back omigod dry spells for RFs, each close to 200K hands.
I wouldn't try to read too much into runs that include quads as well. I've had times I've done better than average on RFs and nice quads, times I've done worse than average on both, and times I've done better at one than the other.
Hope this is of use to you.

Thanks all,I guess I've kept my whining to myself too much..LOL.. now I know where to bring it...
Again, deep down, I knew how the runs could go...but sometimes you want to blame it on something beside luck... although when I'm in a winning streak, of course I want to credit my excellent playing to that! Thanks again for listening, and for your logical advice. It will help me keep my head up.Sincerely,Randy

No need to keep your whining to yourself. I often find the best approach is to whine directly at the machines. Calling them bad names can change things around in no time.
Of course, it's best to listen to a whining pro like CD to get the technique down perfectly.

Whining has proven itself to be one of the most advanced strategies out there. I am a firm devotee of it. VP is kind of like Candid Camera, "When you least expect it..."

$29.95, guys, and the secrets become yours. SM's already got his own tinfoil hat, but for everyone else I can help you out there for only another $5.95.
