lowered payout in Vegas area

Post by jokergal »

I just returned from 4 days in Henderson/Vegas area and was quite disappointed to see the payback rates drastically changed everywhere I went. Granted I didn't go to the Strip hotels to play this time.

Station casinos, South Point and Sam's Town all had HORRENDOUS odds. The bet VP I found was one or two machines at 7/3, a few at 6/5 and the bulk of them at 4/3 and 3/2! These were both single games and multi=denom, also 3, 5 and 10 plays. The non-smoking section at Sunset Station had mostly slots and the dozen or so VPs were all at these low numbers.  The higher numbers were only in the middle of the smoking area. (I don't smoke).  As a result, trip not a positive experience except for the weather and getting away.

Anyone else had similar experience? Sign of the recession?  I know casinos are hurting but people won't stay and play at these rates. The places were pretty empty, even on weekend nights.

Thats 4-1 for FH and 3-1 for FL? the rest would be lets see, 2-1 for ST, and 1-1-1 for trips, pairs and JoB correct? Only the foolish would make such drastic changes on their machines and only the foolhearty would play them.   I just did a quickie search for a couple of the places you mentioned and they still list several games at  +100% so thats in the 10/7 for DB and 10/6 for DDB range.

Yes/ If the good machines are there I sure didn't find them. I was horrified at the low pay schedules on all the VP games.  I also noticed that the usually prolific "loosest slots" signs were not to be seen.   Found QQ only on 3-5 and 10 play, also at the low rates.; Ultimate X was there, but also low. I was playing quarters and didn't check $1 or higher rates - perhaps that's where they were.

I played at Red Rock and the new "M" resort the first of this month and found plenty of good pay machines...Most were 9/6 on DDB.  Going back to the M the end of this week....Hope things haven't changed.   I did notice that GVR had changed some pay tables and gotten rid of the Opium pay with the 10/6 pay out, but I did fine on a 9/6 Triple DDB running it up to $700+. Unless you play a lot and often the lower pay tables won't kill you.  I hit the Quad A's with kicker twice on a 8/? machine so the cut on the FH wasn't really an issue..

Jokergal: are you sure you read those paytables correctly?
