Re: How was your 1st Quarter of 2009?
Wife and I are ahead for the quarter. Last trip to Vegas was great for us (in March), she hit two royals, none for me, but I hsd one terrific night at Harrah's. Sat at $1 DDB machine and hit Aces 6 times in least than an hour. Two were dealt! No kickers however. Played at the Orleans a couple days and managed to hit 4 deuces twice on their Loose Deuces machines. In Detroit (home base) have managed to win enough to stay ahead of the game. All-in-all a good quarter.

first quarter doing well... 3 WG's from quarter STP and one royal, non-taxable, and one day of cashing out over $2300 ahead and no jackpot taxable so that is a perfect day.
$25,000 in WG's for '08...assuming I'll get audited based on what everyone is saying on this board. Too bad the IRS doesn't take into consideration how much I was down the year before.

Like the stock market! Only two RF so far and no other jackpots. Last year at this time we were at 5 RF and 12 jackpots over $1K. However; last year was an incredible run with 29 RF and over 23 jackpots over $1K between the two of us. One RF even on a cruise ship.
January 09 started out well with the two RF on back to back trips but that has been it. Hard to play when you ain't getting them hits!

1st quarter of 09 has turned out like my last couple of years playing, one good day is followed up with 3 or 4 horrible trips with one exception in which I came out ahead 2 trips in a row. I just can't get over that hump and build up a bit of a bankroll to survive the losing streaks. I'm making all the right plays but not seeing the big hits often enough.

Just wondering for those who go frequently... how has the first 3 months of 2009 has been for you?
Personally mine has been a disaster. Haven't hit a Royal Yet. Seems ever since the economy tanked so has the 1099's. Last 3 times I have been I have averaged only 4 or 5 - 4 of Kinds in an 6 hour session.
But thats just me... lets hear it from everyone else... is it play as normal or has your winnings been below your average for some odd reason?
Off to a very good start in '09 with 4 Royals (quarters)... 3 of them at Caesars Windsor and the 4th at the riverboat casino, Par-A-Dice, in Peoria, Illinois.

So lets see I posted this a while back. Now that the quarter is over, it is by far the worst I have run across since 1994.
So far I have not hit 1 royal and normally this time I would have hit 4 or 5 by this time. This is a double post but what is odd is that the 4 casinos I normally visit have all seen record progressives. 1 machine got up to 12k plus on a $1 progressive. I mean these machines hit like clockwork around $5.3k or $5.6k very rarely in the past decade have I seen them above $7k and that is usually when somebody hit the Royal playing 1 credit (grrrrrr) But now they have to get to $7 or $8 before they start thinking about hitting.
Another machine I can usually count on at least 1 w2 each time I go which is a $10 machine. I have yet to hit a w2 on it all year. I dunno they have tightened the belts. I wish they would cut my Free/Bonus play. It gets me everytime
Guess I will keep chasing that Royal :-/

Hmm, you got starred out there. I think we can figure out who you were referring to. I believe he's still not playing for real this year on his own money, instead saying that he's doing his 1-coin penny/nickel testing for card "flipping". Pretty soon we should start taking bets on how he's going to back out of all that and get back to business. Maybe he'll start writing about patterns again.

Toughest year so far for me. I have only had a couple of 100 plus winners this year. Everything else has been small hits of 50 dollars playing video poker. I generally play jacks or better so that is part of my small dollar amounts. I have yet to hit a royal. I traditional hit one by now. I play a lot of nickel progressives which this year have been running up into the 2,000 dollar range. Went to casino on Tuesday and it was full so could not play and it was over $2,400 that day. I am sure that is a good play if you hit.
