When I hit my first royal it was kinda tough getting my picture done; it took quite a long time to chisel the image of me and the video poker machine into that piece of stone...

Funny Ed. When I hit my first royal it was well before the advent of cell phones, much less camera's being inside them. My first was at the first Harrah's casino boat in Joliet, IL. This was also during the time that the boat left the dock and the trip lasted 2 hours. At the end of the two hours all of the patrons were escorted off the boat and a new wave of gamblers were allowed on the boat. About a year after that if you were friendly with the employees they could give you a pass to remain on the boat for a second 2 hour trip. Ah, taking a stroll down memory lane on a nice Sunday afternoon.

I thought that I was older than you! ()  When I hit my first one they had to set up a big box camera on a stand and made me sit still for a few seconds to avoid blurring.  Black & white, of course.

Back then, they'd ask if you wanted a T-shirt as well.  Now, getting a freebie like that for a RF is like pulling teeth.

cd I think Matthew Brady snapped that picture of you right after he took one of Lincoln and Grant at Gettysburg. You're right about the t-shirt too but as yoou mentioned, those are bygone days my friend.
