Any session in the plus column is far better than a kick in the butt.

MikeA - A couple years ago Harrahs in Joliet, IL sent out "mis-printed" bounceback redemption coupons in the amount of $525.00 to approximately 11,500 people. The Illinois Gaming Commission warned Harrahs that they had to honor the coupons and they did. The next month when the casino totals came out Harrahs reported their best month during the period the coupons were redeemed. Me? I got one too. I walked in to Harrahs in Joliet, went to the cashiers cage and got my $525.00 and then promptly walked out of the casino up $525.00 without even breaking a sweat. Boy if it were always THAT easy. Good luck, Tedlark.

A funny aside about the Blackjack tables..or the chips they use anyway. I collect $.25, $.50, $1 and sometimes $2.50 chips from casinos. What better time to grab a $.50 and $1 chip from First Council than the Grand Opening!Well, my wife found a machine open and had played a bit on it and was ready. She had to spend a penny and asked if I'd cash out her ticket. Only place to do that was the cashier's cage. No Ticket Redemption machines in this casino. So I stood in line forever. Everyone working there is new and not familiar with the procedures that are apparently still being evolved!Anyway, I finally got to the window and asked the cashier to give me a $1 chip and a $.50 one in change along with the cash for the ticket. She told me she didn't have any chips back there! I asked her where the Blackjack Players cashed in their winnings and she said, "Here". Then you do have chips, right? She replied "Yes, but we don't have any $.50 or $1 chips!" Now, I guess that means that the players have to leave any chips less than $5 denomination on the table as a toke to the dealers! I didn't press it. Next time necessity demands that I haul my carcass into that casino, I'll just make sure that I have a buck-fifty in change and buy the chips at the table for from one of the other players. I didn't have anything less than a $20 last night and didn't want $20 in chips that I would have to cash in!

"I got on the whopping 8/5 DDB nickel single line Game King machines. There are only two in the bank of 8...the other 6 are 7/5. " I know this is a dumb question for video poker pros but, HOW DO YOU TELL WHAT THE PAYOUT IS ON A MACHINE. I take my mom down there to play all the time. I know which 8 you mean and then there are two other machines in the far room. How do you tell on a video poker machine if it is an 8/5, 7/5 or 9/6 etc. I also was at First Council that same night. It was a mad house. You did not miss anything by not getting up to the bar. They have about 15 video poker machines. Almost all of them start at 50 cent minimum. They are old machines from somewhere. The buttons don't work on most of them. THEY DO NOT PAY OUT EITHER. My sister is a poker dealer down there so I go with her quite a bit and hang out while she is working. I think all their machines are tighter than any place I have ever player. They don't have hardly any quarter slots and most of the other machines are the multi-line penny games. That of course start at 20 lines and most go way up from there. I am not impressed with the place. The food is very expensive and the whole place seems really unorganized.
My opinion. I can't wait for Wellington, Ks to get their new casino. I hope I live long enough to see it.

HOW DO YOU TELL WHAT THE PAYOUT IS ON A MACHINE. (speaking of Wellington casno) I hope I live long enough to see it.Me TOO on the casino in Wellington. They are anticipating 2010 openings if they can get off the starting block reasonably soon...meaning, they have to decide which location and which group will get the contract with the State.I'm not real sure what your question is. JM gave the way to check (i.e., look at the pay tables). But you might not know what to look for. When we talk about a 9/6 JOB machine, we are talking about the pay table for a Jacks or Better machine. The "9" refers to the single coin payback on a Full House. The "6" is the payback for a Flush. That applies to most non-wild card games. 10/6 DDB would be a Double Double Bonus game that pays 10 for a Full House and 6 for a Flush if one coin is wagered.I didn't get close enough to "see" any of the poker machines down there. It was their first night opened and it was total Chaos! Elbow to Elbow people milling around like 10,000 cows in a pig pen! I've not been back.

seemed as good a place as any to post this. A week or so ago, I went to the KAW casino in Newkirk, OK. They were having one of those no-ante night promotions on their Blackjack.
While playing, the pit boss was saying that they expected Oklahoma to overturn the rulling that requires the ante! Guesses were that this might take place in 2010.
No confirmation on this. Just speculation by the pit boss. I do not know if the Tribes are lobbying the legislative body for this or not.
