VP Basic Strategy Cards
I'm a new member and I have to say WOW! What a forum - more great info on video poker here than anywhere on the 'net.
At best, I'm a video poker "enthusiast". I can remember what JOB or DW pay tables are worth playing and which to run from screaming bloody murder.
I've read and toyed around with strategies, and have done some practicing with the free online games.
Last Vegas trip I took some handmade note cards with very basic strategy printed on one side and pay tables on the other. One for me and one for my fiance (she never used them...). They slowed my game down a bit but at least I knew I was making mostly mathematically correct decisions.
I've since lost those cards and the .txt files used to make them. Before I go to the trouble (2-4 hours worth) of making more, I thought I'd ask the forum about other options.
I've seen Dancers cards, with the 4 levels of strategy for each game. IIRC they are about $7 each. I know they're probably the best, but I'm not really into the unwieldy size or the multi colored levels of strategy. Both make them a bit cumbersome.
I'm looking for just a wallet size or credit card size basic strategy card for JOB and DW.
Anybody seen those around?
Any other options I should consider?
I did UTFSE a bit, but didn't find what I was looking for. Sorry if this has already been asked and answered.
Thanks in advance.

Dancer are about 3 x5 amd lamenated with good instructions included. They are the best and worth the price. Will save you more than their cost.

Welcome to the site!
Any set of good strategy cards will pay themselves off in no time, so I wouldn't get too hung up on price.
I've never heard of wallet-sized cards. Buy any good set and then practice at home with them. If you're like me, there are a couple of plays that I always seem to have trouble remembering - you can write those down on something small enough to fit in your wallet.

I'll just go with a couple of Dancer's cards and call it good.
Are the strategies for standard JOB and DW the easiest to learn?
Don't want to limit myself, but with only 4 weeks to go I best keep it simple.
I'll do most of my VP at the Palms. $.25 single line and maybe some $.05 multi-line. The girl and I both love that casino, and they've always had a great selection of full pay machines.
If I get stuck at another casino with less than full pay, is it necessary to deviate from basic strategy? Does it really make much of a difference?
Thanks for the tips.

When I first began playing I bought a credit card sized strategy card for Job from a cart on Fremont Street. It started me on the road to mathmatically better play. Try the Gambler's Bookstore, LV Advisor or I just purchased some cards of the same size on Blackjack and Roulette from:

Most gaming authors have proper play strategy cards. Jean Scotts are quite accurate and a good deal too. Whatever your choice, you'll see them pay for themselves by saving you from some costly errors. Lesser paytables doesn't change your strategy unless you include a progressive jackpot or some bonus coupon for a larger hit from the casino. BTW, Welcome.

You can find strategies for most games at vpgenius.com and print them for your own use.

Several good ideas have been presented above. Another great site is: The Wizard of Odds. Many strategies are given including various games of Quick Quads and Not So Ugly Ducks (NSUD) that someone had recently requested. One does not have to sign up on this site. Click on The Wizards Vault, VP and Game Info and Strategies.

Thanks for all the extra help!
I found these through the Wizard of Odds site:
http://www.skiphughes.com/newcarddesc.html
Small, cheap, and simple. Just what I'm looking for!
Ordered JOB, DW, & DB for $17 including shipping.
I'll work on practicing so they pay-off.
