Summer Vacation TR
We left home 6/27 for Montauk we go every summer-we fished, ate good food, lounged by the pool etc-very relaxing. Wednesday we drove the 2 hrs home, dropped off the fishing equipment, watched that weeks episode of Ture Blood and then hit the road to AC, another 2hr and change drive.
We decided we would just play our cash back and go to eat-we had a little less than 200 coming to us. Well we never touched our bankroll till late friday! hubby got a 4 of a kind BP single line STP with an 8 multiplier and i was getting a bunch of 5trees on DWB. We upped the ante and played together 3 line $1 STP Bonus and got a few 4trees and some good hits with the multipliers on fullhouses etc.
Next morning those machnes were taken so we went to the Sultans Palace to play the old game makers they have there. They have a single line game $1 called Triple play which pays off like white hot aces. We could do no wrong. I held 1 ace and got the other three for $1200, he got a bunch of 4 trees and I got dealt 4 threes for 600 and pulled 4 deuces for $600. We even played a little of the "penny" machines at dollar denominations. They had thor and jungle wild with 5 lines or 9 lines, we played 1 coin per line and won 300 on one and 800 on another with another 300 soon after.
Things started to slow down in there so we went to quarter STP and played 5 line Joker together. Got dealt 4 natural 7's (why couldnt that happen on ddb?) with a 5 multiplier-5 chances for $5000....not one! Still not a bad hit of $500. Then we switched to 10 play and got dealt 3Q's and a joker-no multiplier-but nope not one Q.Then we held a pair of 6's-and behold a 5tree!
Friday afternoon things started t get ugly-nothing was playing. We tried quarters, dollars, single line, multiline, Deuces, Bonus, DDB.....NOTHING!Even the penny machines-I gt 105 free spins on one of the games and only got 100 bucks! The guy next to me with 6 spins got 159!
Saturday wasnt much better. Got a few 4trees at the dollar level-(oh I forgot, we had 4 tries at 4 to the royal in dollars and never connected over the 4 days.) At this point we are hitting our bankroll! YIKES!
Sunday we played a little more and then we left refusing to give them our whole bankroll but boy we had a great time!
Giveaways-One day was free comps, we got 150 between us, one day you played and got points towards beach towels and we ended up with 12 of them! One day was 2 free sultans feast meals each, so we ahd dinner thre one night and breakfast one morning-never had breakfast there it was great-never knew they had an omelet station! with the extra comp dollars we had lobsters in our room one night-excellent.
Non-gambling-our host had us to a dinner in the rainforest room of the Safari Steakhouse-excellent. Open Bar. gorgonzola salad with candied walnuts, filet mignon and shrimp and couscous, and a delish dessert-and the wine flowed. Also as you left they gave you a bottle of pinot noir.
Our room looked out towards Harrahs and borgata so we had great seats for the fireworks a well. OH and whats a boops trip without movies- Wolverine-Haunting in CT-Dragon Ball-Race to Witch Mountain-Crank high velocity.
Now Im getting ready to book our january cruise to have something on my countdown clock!

Well worth waiting for Boops, it sounds like you and your "squeeze" had a very enjoyable trip. How was the fishing? Oh and I feel your pain getting dealt a 4tree on Joker and not getting the magical 5th card, oh well. Thanks, Ted

Ted-the fishing was disappointing as they closed the fluke season for the time we were there. The boat we go on switched to bass fishing-not my favorite. My husband got a nice keeper bass. The capt (he knows me for 20 yrs) let me fish for fluke and throw back what I caught-I got 13 fish 1 day and 6 the next day (I didnt mind throwing them back as they werent keeper size anyway) Do you do any fishing?

I have been fishing twice in my life Boops, I just never got into it. I have several close work associates who are nuts for fishing and they go up to Canada a couple times a year to one of those fishing camps that you get flown to and they send you off each day to fish then you eat what you caught. If you didn't catch anything then its a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of water for dinner. Good luck next time out on the boat.

Thanks for the trip report, Boops. Sorry to hear about the fluke fishing. I'm torn between fishing and VP. Both are such pleasant past times but winning at video poker may the bigger fluke.

I think there are a lot of similarities between fishing a VP. Most of the time is spent waiting for that big hit. A little time spent baiting the hook (inserting money into the machine). You often start out by buying the bait (stopping at the bank). When you do catch the big fish (jackpot) the adrenalin rush is fantastic. Even the bugs (nuisances) can be compared. I've never gotten sunburned in a casino, but my bankroll has been burned many times.

thats why u and i play 100%+ games and play them correctly. i do that for fun and make a few bucks to cover costs of trip after comps. if one plays fpdw the average is $7.00 per hour plus comps with ups and downs so we must like playing and the excitement of a nice hit or we would work for mcdonalds for 8.00 per hour with out risk to our bankroll
