There was doubt that was brought up in the forum of my identity.  They all thought I was RS.

A couple of us posted recently that the question of your identity is just an interesting sideline - the true "meat" here is your opinions and views of VP.

Rolandude, no one said anything about being ashamed or hiding your affliction. I said that cancer patients rarely seek to draw attention to their situation, particularly among a group of total strangers. There are two regulars on this board who are cancer survivors and yet they have never used that info to draw attention or sympathy to themselves. The way you twisted my words strangely reminds me of another controversial (former) poster on this forum.

Kind of looks like RD is the one doing the whining. As already mentioned the results were predicted just like expected. Nothing for us to whine about. More like a group high-five.

As for the silence ... well, there's nothing more to say when you've nailed it. I was thinking of gloating but avoided it until RD decided to throw in his rant. We still know exactly what's going on.

rolan, my condolences and best wishes for your health as I think I expressed in private messages already. I'm not sure if you are getting the ones i send you?

My only beef has been about how you seem to dispute anything that goes against your preconveived notions about your betting strategy. As has been said a hundred times over, there is nothing wrong with playing that way if that is what you prefer. There just isn't any real advantage without real risks. All people have done is point out both the pros and cons of it. Oej tends to focus on the cons.

There's no big secret to it.

But as I said in the message i tried to send you, there is more to life than arguing about video poker strategies so I wish you well in all other regards. I just wish you would stop calling other people the closed-minded ones on this particular issue when it is quite clearly the opposite. I don't know how many more ways it can be explained to you. But I'm glad you won some money this time.

rolandude I find your comment about disclosing your illness (and the reason why you did it) interesting. When I made my first post on this website nobody EVER asked me why I hadn't posted before. Geez Ted we've noticed that you've been a member since whenever and you have just posted here, now? I agree with a prior comment about you surfing for sympathy. This is the only time I am going to mention it to this board and I will not comment any further even if I get private messages about this that I am about to share. Over the years I have been shot (work related), I have been knocked unconcious (work related), I have been in horrific car accidents, as recently as a month ago. I was struck head on by a vehicle while I was riding my motorcycle, I have suffered broken bones, I have been hospitalized twice for deep vein thrombosis (dvt), I have been hospitalized twice for pulmonary embolisms, (pe), I walked for two months on a broken left foot , I have had knee and shoulder surgeries, angiograms, and last but not least I was born 9 weeks premature. I have never been quick to disclose these things voluntarily such as you have.

Several years ago I worked out at a gym and there was a guy there who wasn't so popular. It seemed that one of the reasons why he wasn't so popular was because about every few months he would "disclose" that he was dying and each time it was from a different illness. His "disclosures" were an obvious attempt at winning popularity through sympathy with the others who worked out at this place too. Last I heard he was still alive and well, divorced a couple times too; probably because the women he married would tire of his act too.

I currently know several people who suffer from cancer and combined these people haven't talked about it to me as much as you have.
Rolandude, how was the cancer-chemo thing originally
raised on this forum? As I recall, you raised it yourself. Which makes
you fairly unique. In my experience (medical professional with 29 years
of clinical, teaching and textbook experience) cancer patients rarely
if ever attempt to draw attention to their disease and/or treatment,
much less attempt to draw sympathy. It
was raised months ago when I was questioned about why I had not posted
here before.  I then told everyone that I was stuck at home going
through my 5th and 6th months of chemo.  There was doubt that was
brought up in the forum of my identity.  They all thought I was RS.  I
don't look for sympathy.  I did not need counseling or group support
during my treatments.  I was in fact proud of my strength in
confronting and fighting my cancer, so were my doctors.  I sure was not
afraid to tell anyone about it.  So in your 29 years of textbook
medicine I would hope that you do not condone being ashamed and trying
to hide the fact of your illness.  All of my doctors encouraged me to
talk about it as often as possible...
No, r-dude, your statements here are not quite accurate.  (I know that is shocking to some.)  Just as rascal indicated, you brought up the illness in your 2nd post on this forum (and 1st in defense of RS) prior to anyone questioning you about anything.  I agree that you did bring health up more than once, later in responses to others' posts, but you wanted people to know about this for some reason or other from the start of your posts. You also brought up your identity in the same post without waiting for anyone on the forum to question your independence from RS.   That also may be unprecedented; I'm not aware of other first-time posters publsihing so much information about themselves.   And, as previously stated by others and me, it is of no consequence to the credibility of RS's theories who you are.  I'm sure after a while it's tough to keep things straight.  I don't know if that is a problem with chemotherapy or more of a problem when people just make things up as they go along.  I'm not questioning your motives, your intentions, or your identity; I'm just offering you a little help with your veracity.  To help with your memory, you can refer to the Money Management thread in the Video Poker Strategy section.  I'll leave it to others individually to decide whether your immediate offer of health history adds to the content of the post or whether such information would ordinarily be volunteered to strangers this early in a discussion with them. You wrote:  (Posted: 16 Feb 2009 at 1:46pm) Respectfully guys....on the subject of RS...I took him up last
year on his offer to help any player who asked.  He picked me up at my
hotel (The Rio) in his car.  We drove to two other properties where he
checked in and "got the treatment" (at Planet Hollywood we were taken
upstairs to a lounge/lobby for check-in and I was afraid to touch
anything it was so NICE!  He checked in under his real name, got comps
and free play that I couldn't believe, and then he took and treated me
to a very expensive dinner where we really started to talk about vp). After
dinner we went and randomly selected a single line multi-play machine
where he taught me the correct way to play one of his strategies I was
interested in.  I used my card for comp credit and he gave me the
choice to use my money and keep all the winnings for myself or go
half'n'half and split the take while I learned the plays.  I played
slowly and deliberately trying to learn his reasoning for some of his
"special plays" and when to use them.  Our progression eventually took
us to the $10 level...I'll be honest...I CHICKENED OUT!!  He
didn't...on his money he proceeded (wanting to teach me an important
lesson) and within a couple of hands "BANG" a quad, $2,500 W2G and a
big smile.  It was great!  On our way back to my hotel he told me that
if I am not comfortable playing the higher limits, then set my goals
lower and do the same thing on the lower denom games. All in all
I wouldn't trade that evening for anything.  He did everything he
claims to do and taught me to do the same if I wanted to.  Can't ask
for more than that.I have since been diagnosed with Hodgkin's
Lymphoma (which this Thursday is my last Chemo treatment and they say
it is all gone...hurray!) and have only been back to LV once since
then.  I told RS that I was coming back to town for Harrah's Great Gift
Wrap up Promo.  (I'm a 3 year Diamond and I had lots of points).  He
met up with me again, treated me to a great lunch, asked about my
health problems,  and then we went shopping courtesy of Harrah's. Say what you want....call me an idiot...I've met him, he's everything
he claims in his vids and articles, and he's got me winning on back to
back trips to LV using his systems.  That's something I hadn't
accomplished in my previous 6 years of playing vp as an adv. player.
It's just the truth! My real name is J. Carter and I am from Central Florida and I have
never been asked or promised or paid to say the things I have just
wrote in my post.  My email is Rolanddude@aol.com.  Hopefully, for some
of you, this may clear a few myths.********************************************************* Later that day, in my first post to you (16 Feb 2009 at 7:43pm),
I questioned why you made so many posts in one day after not making any
in the previous 10 months.  In your answer, you indicated that you had
never before that day ventured into the forum.  I thought that was a bit unbelievable based on the information about the forum in the posts that you made, but who knows?  You might read 1000 times faster than average, which is no more incredible than some of the other claims that I've read. You wrote, (Posted: 16 Feb 2009 at 9:19pm), I always came to this sight [sic] to play the games I couldn't on VPFW.  I
ventured into to [sic] forums for the first time today as I sit here numbed
up from the chemo.I had intended not to respond in this thread.  You will be surprised to learn that my planned non-response was not because I was awed by the Undisputable Evidence that your theories had been proven correct.  After all, with this trip, you have added to our wealth of knowledge by an unsubstantiated sample of one trip which proves beyond a shadow of doubt that everything you've posted is accurate! No, the real reason that I anticipated not posting was because Webman has not yet added a yawning emoticon indicating sheer boredom and I've already given your posts more attention than I believe that they deserve.  But here, I thought rascal's post, which actually brought up some information that had NOT been discussed here ad nauseum, deserved some support.

I remember when I had a hemmroid swell real bad once on a airplane. It was aweful. Had to have it lanced the next day. That is when I joined this forum. True story.
Funny how life leads you where it wants.
I came to a fork in the road and took it. And here I am.
