Vegas Trip Wow!

Better half and I just returned from Vegas trip. What a trip-three days at Bryce Canyon and three days at Red Rock! On the way to and from Bryce Canyon we stopped at Mesquite. We had never played there and had checked VPfree for recommendations. Played Casablanca on the way up. Thirty minute break became two and half hours of great fun playing 100% return machines and breaking even. On the way back from Bryce Canyon wife is driving her leg and says she needs a “break”. So we stop at Virgin River (they also have 100% return). Potty break ends up being 3 hours with wife hitting 4 deuces twice and me hitting quads enough to again break even. Nice casinos and great fun.

Arrive at Red Rock Tuesday night around dark and shower, eat, and…hit the floor. We were looking for the newest machines that our La. Casinos don’t have like Quick Quads (QQ), Wheel Power, and Ultimate X that we have been playing at videopoker.com. We try QQ quads but don’t have the strategies down yet and didn’t have any success. Find Wheel Power and try it. No hits so we move to 100% return machines. I have a feeling that I need to go back to Wheel Power. Put in $100 and third hand hit quad 6’s plus 250. No more hits and move to the next machine. In the next hour, I hit 11 quads switching games back and forth between Bonus, DDB, and DB. Lowest wheel spin bonus was 250 and I hit quad 3’s on DDB + 800 and quad 3’s again about 20 hands later with 1,000 bonus spin.   Five tickets later cash out cool $1,400+.   

Move back to 100% return machines where wife is playing and play even for until around 2:00 a.m. Wife has gone down from a $100 to less than ten dollars when DW starts hitting. RF/D multiple times, 5K, etc. Plays it back to +$200 when she draws 4 to RF and hits RF. Meanwhile, I begin hitting on DDB and draw 3 Aces. Close my eyes, wait, and hit AWAK followed by 4’s WAK. We close out the night at 4 a.m. Up 3K for the night.

Over the next two days better half can’t hit a thing. She usually beats the heck out of me playing on skill and instinct. 32 RF’s to my 13 RF’s over the past 18 months. Meanwhile, I hit 2 more AWAKs and 4 aces, 3’s & 4’s with kickers.   Even hit AWAK when I move to 5¢ play when I got tired and only play a $23 ticket. Once again waited and got that perfect nano second.

Thursday, we drive over to East Side Cannery to check it out and play 100% JW that they don’t have at Red Rock. Ten minutes into the game I hit RF/J and leave 2 hours later up with twice what I brought to play.   Nice casino but a drive from Red Rock especially during rush hour.

Friday, we have to kill the day before a late flight back to Houston. After lunch, I play DDB and draw 3 Aces. Wait and hit AWAK on 50¢ play as wife is waiting to borrow some more money. She is sulking…. I’m loving it!   But, I can’t rub it in because I know the tables will turn.   Head to Flamingo later that afternoon to play on daughter’s card and my card to keep them current. Hit quad Aces on triple play as wife walks up to ask for more money.

Over the three and a half days in Vegas we played combined over 36 hours VP. Great trip! All the quads on WP and the AWAK were incredible.   Strange, though, but I never hit a RF w/deuce the entire time with over 2,000 hands DW/LDW. But, I’ll take the AWAK over RF/D anytime.

Can’t wait to head back to Vegas-Red Rock.

Is it just me or are there a lot of fantastic reports lately? It seems like 2 months ago people were saying everything had gone cold. Nice of casinos to rig the machines in everyone's favor for the summer. I'm suspicious!

I like Mesquite NV. The drive thru the Virgin River Gorge is breath taking.

As side note I once went around 9000 hands without hitting a RF/D playing a combination fo NSUD, FPDW and LD. Yikes!
