Illinois Casino Tour
Hi Gang - A couple buddies came in to the Chicago area for the weekend and we hit several casinos here. Our first stop after O'hare Airport was Hollywood casino in Aurora; I spent about an hour playing my favorite video slot before I got bored and went to the .25 3/5 play machines. I was switching between 3 and 5 hands and was holding my own when up popped a royal, mined while holding 2 to the royal on the draw. I played on for a while and got quad dueces while playing dueces wild. After about 4 hours there we headed to Empress Casino in Joliet. A couple weeks ago I met a very nice casino host who hooked us up with three junior suites and they were nice, hot tubs in all three. After eating a nice selection of offerings in the Executive Producer Lounge we headed off to play. I immediately started playing video poker, bopping around a couple different machines and keeping my head above water. I jumped over to a different 3/5/10 play machine and started playing dueces wild but I switched to DDB. A nice elderly woman was playing the machine next to me and she hit aces with a kicker and then about 30 minutes later a royal. I was happy for her but secretly wished it was me who had hit those when all of a sudden I was staring at this on my screen:

About 10 minutes after hitting this I then got a royal on the same machine. I ended the night and went to bed not long after hitting these two.
On Sunday we went up to the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, IL. I played .25 denomination 3/5 play and couldn't hit a thing, left after dropping $300.00. We then headed to Harrah's in Joliet, IL and got three comped rooms. I stopped by my favorite video slot machine and promptly won back $150.00 of the $300.00 I left at Grand Victoria so I was happy. We ate a nice comped dinner at their steakhouse, the prime rib was excellent, and we went off to play again. I headed to the video poker area in the back corner of the casino and played 3/5 play and got quad dueces once and called it a night. I ended up winning back the money I dropped at Grand Victoria and ended the weekend with a smiule on my face. Funny how getting dealt aces on a five play will do that to you gang. This brings my royal tally up to 9 for the year, including twhen I was dealt 5 of them at Hollywood in Aurora. Good luck to all, Ted.

Way to go Ted!
Too bad that wasn't DB+ as the adjacent dealt aces would have been 2000 credits for each line. I doubt you're complaining though.

Thanks Marie and Shadowman. Super Aces is on this machine too but I have never really gotten in to that game but it would have been nice if I was trying it when this hit. I'm just glad I got the notion to switch from dueces wild to double double bonus.

Nice! I got dealt four bullets on a five hand machine not too long ago. And hit not one kicker! You got 3!! WTG... you had a lot more luck gaming in Chitown than I did last June.

Yes Ted that would have been neat. Unfortunately we were not able to preplan this trip " due to circumstances beyond our control".
