Most people don't. It's the same way when someone posts a question on "who's the best host to call for a free room, etc. @ X hotel/casino". that's simply not thinking. If you're a player at any casino then your absolute best offers will come in the mail via automated marketing dept. mailings. You stay under the radar and are barely noticed. Yet there are many people--including all the famous names that sell strategy to players--who advise to call your local host or find one where you've played, and ASK for whatever it is that you want. Only fools do that. As soon as you call in you are flagged for your upcoming visit and your play is watched from when you arrive until you depart. Computer marketing codes are adjusted based on what you did, and it takes far more play to get the value of the offer you would have been mailed vs. what you actually got or will get on your next player-to-host telecon. No serious player EVER talks to casino hosts. I've been a big player at Sam's Town, the Venetian, Ramada Express, Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay and a number of others over the years, I regularly get RFB offers from them all, and I have NEVER talked to or even know a host at any property.

This topic has basicly dealt with tipping floor people when a larger jackpot has been paid . I'll take it a step further that I usually get nice things, not too expensive(under $50) for my casino hosts from time to time. The hosts make my visit pleasant and take care of my wants and needs as best as they can. Believe me, if can do something for you, they will !!!!---CWA--

I understand the philosophy of not tipping to keep your winning totals up.
 
However, I still tip the pizza boy, even if I'm using a $2 coupon to save 2 bucks on my lifetime pizza purchase total.

Those IT guys make upward of $10 bucks per hour. And he can pick up overtime.

I shudder when i hear of ANYONE showering gifts upon their casino hosts. Do you actually know what they do when they're in their offices and you're on the floor playing? They watch, they hope, and they cheer for you to lose and they cheer louder when you lose more. They wince in pain when you win, because they either get lambasted at the Monday morning marketing review or they lose their commission. However, if they run into you during your stay they will be the most accomodating, most exciting and most comforting people you've ever known. You want to give employees who are paid to get you in to lose your money gifts--and they don't care one bit if you lose your house, your car or your spouse because of it--then you are very limited in your overall understanding of the system in which they work. They don't need your gifts, and they wouldn't give you one dime from their own pockets.

Maybe I'm wrong for saying it and I don't meen any disrespect to you bigboy but I don't see anything wrong with what he said as long as his comment about "the cuter the ass" is in reference to the cocktail waitresses and not the bartenders (since most are males).
