Biloxi info needed
Got a free air charter trip to Biloxi compliments of the Beau Rivage...I know it's a nice hotel and hope the VP is tollerable...Are there any other casinos in Biloxi that are decent. I'll settle for 9/6 pay table and mostly play $.25 triple play or progressives.....Leaving in two days so any advice would be appreciated...

kjohn,
Check out vpfree2 data base for the best Biloxi play. Google "vpfree2" - the data base has the best machines in the non-Indian US/Canada casinos. Go to the website then gulf coast. You'll probably want to bookmark the site. We like IP but haven't been there in over a year. Other family like the Hard Rock.
Good luck! Hit a RF!

Actually, Beau Rivage has the worst paytables on the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast...horrible, in fact. The hotel is very nice and it has great restaurants and bars and excellent entertainment, but the VP is awful, worst I have ever seen. Luckily, you will be very close to IP, which is better. Hard Rock is only slightly better than the Beau. In Hancock County, east of Biloxi, there is an out-of-the-way casino called Silver Slipper which has good paytables but a very limited number of machines. I have some property on the Mississippi coast and I am there on a regular basis, and I have done the best at the IP and Silver Slipper. IP has some higher denom machines that I play regularly, but you must watch carefully because they do change the paytables frequently, and sometimes adjoining machines have different tables.

I appreciate the info...I'll be cautious at BR and then try out IP. I think they have a shuttle you can take or so I read....Loved the vpfree2 site....I totally forgot about it as we usually go to Vegas and play off the strip and I know the machines there

kjohn,
Glad the VPfree helped. Let us know how the trip goes. I may be making a run towards Biloxi around Christmas so I would be interested in how the games played.
We are headed to Hard Rock - Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale this weekend before our cruise. We are looking forward to it and the Saint Maarten casinos. We had a great time on the last cruise. Stopped at one island casino around noon on a rainy (no beach/dive day) and had the casino to ourselves. What fun! 100+ machines and just two of us with a bar tender and waitress and tech for three hours.
Good luck.

Sounds like you are off for a fun trip....I'll check out the machines and let you know what I find...Prob. play at BR tonight as we get in after 8:00PM then tomorrow we're driving to Ocean Springs for a few hours just to check the place out.. My hubby doesn't gamble, so I have to appease him and do a few other things. Otherwise he stays busy driving places and playing golf...He said Sun. he'd run me to IP if I wanted to play there. The only neg. I've read about the place is that it is very smoky...I'm probably not as fanatical about pay tables as some since I only get to play about every two to three months...I just go for the A's and royals and if I loose a bit on the FH and F so be it...I've kept track a few times and in about 2-3 hours of play with a lower pay table I'v lost under $5.00, but I can see if I played more that would add up fast. As is not too huge a concern...I don't like ANY of the new bonus games. Too much invested going for the big pay off. I'd rather play longer and buy a lotter ticket....Have a great trip and I'll report back when we return.....

Larry - Were you looking to check out the Isle, Mardi Gras etc. or just the Hard Rock?

Hey Larry,
We're back from Biloxi so here is my report.....The Beau is a great place
to stay , but you are correct the pay table on most VP was low 7/6.
However back by the Poker room there's a bank of progressive machines that
are very fun...The Progressive starts with the 4A's and it seems to grow really
fast. Pay table is 8/6 but the quads hit constantly. I played there non stop
for hours and saw three royals hit, many quads and 4A's. As for me I walked with
a cool $1000 PROFIT. Dealt 42's with a kicker, aces and on and on...Lots of
fun...There are two games that are progressive the DDB and DB. I took my
grand and ventured to a bank of triple play, which is my favorite game, and
decided since I was now using their money I'd have some real fun despite the
8/6 pay table....I have pictures on my cell of my luck...Put in $100, my usual
stake on TP, and was dealt 4A's no kicker. Up $600, played it off and the NEXT
play dealt 4A's again. Got the kicker on the bottom line for $900 so a nice
$1500 in three hands....
Next day I went to the IP and although the pay tables were some better 9/6
I didn't do nearly as well. I played upstairs in the newer section but didn't
hit anything monumental...The downstairs section was pretty smoky so I ended up
back at the BR and gave them some money back trying to duplicate my fun TP
experience. Before we left on the last morning I headed back to the progressive
and took out another $100 profit.... All in all I actually like the BR better.
Never made the HR next door. I'm a firm believer that payables aren't the only
thing to consider. Saw two royals hit on the lousy Pay Table machines so who
knows. I guess everyone just has to decide for themselves what is important in
the gambling experience. Good luck. We're off to Vegas in a week and staying
two nights at GVR and two at the "M". I'll probably give them all my Biloxi
winnings but such is life. Who knows I may win more....Either way it's sure
fun...

kjohn,Sounds like a great time. Congratulations! Sorry about the slow response, just getting back today in from our cruise. (Sitting in hotel down from Seminole Hard Rock-headed home tomorrow.) I agree sometimes those lousy pay tables are hot. We have hit several times big on low pay tables. Last cruise hit RF on low DB. This cruise i hit the RF progressive the second day of the cruise on a low pay DW. (see Cruise story) Keep up the great play. Wish the cruise ship had Triple Play which is my favorite too.LL
