It's big ... we were there the first week in Dec. ... everything wasn't open yet .... too many jewelry stores .... nice to visit but that's enough for me.

Hey farmer,
We stayed at Caesars the weekend before Christmas and checked out Aria. Keep in mind, you can just walk over the bridge to Bellagio and take the free tram to City Center/Aria and beyond if you like. Aria and the surrounding shopping mall is a spectacle, looks like something from the future. As far as gaming goes, it blows. The video poker pay tables are 6/5, 7/5 at best on JOB, DDB, and TDB. They do have some of the newest technology and games. I saw 3 play spin poker at $1.00 minimum denomination (no thank you at $135 max bet with 7/5 DDB). I settled in at a $10 black jack table and played 2 spots at $25 a pop and lost $500 in about 10 minutes with the endless automatic shuffling machine laughing at me the whole time.
Definitely a must see, definitely a not where to play. It'll be interesting as time goes by though if MGM/Mirage Corp will improve the gaming as players begin to stay away from the gaming due to the poor odds. It will also be cool to see the facility grow as new parts are opened over time.

Mule, Thanks for the heads up on gaming at Aria and the tram. We are Vegas bound soon and it sure helps to have the latest info! This sort of thing is part of what is so great about this site! I can only hope that tram takes us to NewYork-NewYork. I wonder what you meant in "beyond". At Excaliber we will catch another tram to Mandelay Bay to catch a shuttle to Southpoint and GVR.Thanks for a fun contest! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE!

Hi marie,
Please, call me Mule. What I meant with "and beyond" is that the tram from Bellagio goes on after City Center to the Monte Carlo. From there you must walk to NewYork-NewYork and then you can walk across Tropicana Ave on the skybridge to Excaliber and then take that tram to Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Then you can take your shuttle to Southpoint or GVR.

Mule, Thanks for the added info. The walk from Monte Carlo to NewYork-NewYork will be good for us. We have the obvious fear of over-losing in Vegas. In adddition, is that nagging fear that our clothes won't fit once back home after one too many buffet meals!

While out in Vegas .... you must check out Steve Wynn's Encore ... it is very exciting and I did pretty good there also....
In building his hotels, it's only the very best.

Farmer, read the article after clicking on the link. It's lengthy but worth the read. http://dmckee.lvablog.com/?p=1638
gives a pretty good description of what to expect. Keep in mind that this was written back last month so things may have markedly improved.
Good luck Marie Majors!
